The exp you get from the 2.0 to 3.0 is trivial I don't even know why they bothered

Level 1-50 msq is fine it's paced well and rewards a ton of exp , the issue is with the 2.0 quests they were intended to be done in blocks over the course of ARR which would be tolerable though mindless fetch questing is unesesary . However a new player will hit 50 and find themselves having to churn through hundred of mindless quests this does nothing more than degrade the narrative and make many people outright quit.

It's only going to get worse if you want a healthy population it needs to be addressed .

I think the reason new players dislike the MSQ chain requirement, is that they just don't get it or understand it. I've been playing for 3 months now, and i wasn't aware of the MSQ thing until right before i purchased the CE of Heavensward - It didn't stop me. I was used to how JRPGs work, so i actually welcomed the requirements.

Since the xpac hit, i've been playing through (not grinding) the older MSQ stuff and having a blast, while enjoying the story. I've been getting post-50 exp and getting ilvl 110 stuffs and its been GREAT!

I remember this sort of issues with Diablo 3's launch as well, though. People mistook D3 as some sort of an MMO and raged on the forums that there was no end game raids or end game progression, other than playing the same maps repeatedly to get rare drops.

In some ways, its a learning curve or any new player - research what you are going to invest in, before jumping in with cold feet and getting angsty about how things work. There are plenty of reviews and online articles regarding the general flow of these games.

Leveling only by questing in 3.0 is trivial. Trust me, every little bit of exp you can come into 3.0 with helps.
