Chocobo Riding to other citys,towns (Race Time Quest)

FFXI had a Chocobo sorta mini game/quest where you would rent a chocobo at a city and npc would tell you to ride from Grindnna to Ul'Dah and completion on staying on chocobo and reaching the zone location would rank you on your time and give you gil.

Before renting chocobo they would mention who has the fastest speed time for completing that in the server.

Id like FFXIV to add ther own kinda quest within the game and maybe add some adjustments to it.

I remember that, would be pretty good if they did implement it.
I remember doing it earlier this year and somehow managed to beat the "best time" by about a minute xD

A gil reward wouldn't be that great imo, but possibly some Chocobo related item as a reward would be nice.

Look for chests that'll help you along the way, if knocked off your chocobo, go to the last checkpoint touched to receive a knock-down penalty that slows your chocobo (state of weakness) and continue the race)

1st Prizes for winning:

New gear for your chocobo that increases speed/defense
New chocobo jack coat/dress/hat/pants/cape/ that increases rider's stability/handling of the chocobo's movement
a gold crown that says "Chocobo Racing King/Queen" and baraging rights (until someone beats you)

2nd prize:
Saddle flags
Silver tiara thingy that says "Chocobo racing prince/Princess"

3rd:
bronze circlet that says "Chocobo racing slow poke"

(The prizes are for PERSONAL chocobo use only outside of racing, the items cannot be used for races)

Oh man I did a few of those. They were fun and Falcus, that would be a nice little deal. Gil or another Chocobo related reward would be nice. Guess we will have to wait and see exactly what we're getting. Just wondering if they have even put in any thought to raising them as in XI but at least the renting/Grand Companie aspect is better than nothing.

I did too that's why I think this would be a fun event. It would include the entire population that owned a Chocobo. And the bragging rights would be huge.

i didn't really play the choco races or bring resources with choco like in ffxi, but if they do add it they need to make it so records don't reset, i felt that to be one of the stupidest things. i didn't really do any of the side games, never found them fun and no worthy rewards so rewards would be great too. but if it's boring an with rewards would be like giving us great rewards in pvp, half the player base would be annoyed lol.

one thing that absolutly sucked was chocobo races, i'm sry watching npc's race? lol ...with every side game se made then more and more boring and stupid lol. lets hope for better ones this time.

idea of timed choco races can be really fun if done right.
