Is it me or does Yoshi really hate crafter/gatherers now?

So I got my goldsmith to 53 on friday. First new quest with a reward. Turns out I need hard silver. So im okay, ill level my miner.


It then turns out that hard silver requires a level 56 miner to mine. Okay. So I get to 56.
It then turns out that the place where I can find hard silver is in the hinterlands..which is locked by the msq.

After asking a level 60 fc fellow of mine, it turns out its hard locked behind a level 58 MSQ quest.



Why do I need a level 58 DoW/DoM to be able to complete a level 53 DoH quest? And why does it require having to do the MSQ till up that point?

This plus what ive heard about few recipes being available at 60, as well as ofcourse the ''free HQ from quest'' makes me wonder if perhaps theyve really brought the nerf hammer down hard on DoH/DoL.

Am I the only one feeling this way?

Okay seems that the hard silver requirement was an error on my part. What I needed to make hard silver nuggets is |hard silver sand| instead of |hard silver ore|.
So its not a level 58 requirement. However it does still require a level 56 miner and level 53 Dow/DoM + MSQ unlock. (for what is only a tier 1 craft of the new 51-60 range)

All of crafting and gathering is like this. It's annoying, but it drives competition to the marketboard and contains it under the crafting/gathering cap, which will always be inferior to the raid loots.

There's nothing worth crafting so there won't be any competition. Only green color body pieces and white color adamantite stuff are available at level 60. The rest are either glamour, minions and bardings (can't believe that we even need a master book to craft a damn chocobo barding!). Will people really buy any of these stuff when they can get them through quests? If there's no demand then the only thing that will happen is the economy suffering. What they've done here is worse than 2.0.

Master book 3 doesn't have any hidden recipes. All items that are tradeable / craftable are listed in the market board and the lodestone.

Just hit 60 GSM (and 56 miner so can get my own mats, and 58 PLD so I can get to the areas to get my own mats), which took me to the Goblin place... where you can buy ilvl 170 gear with tomes of law. As it currently stands, there is no reason at all to craft, none, nada, zilch, unless you want to craft items for crafters to use so they can craft better items.... for crafters to use.

People are already wandering around in ilvl 170 gear, why would they want to by vastly inferior accessories or gear than they can get for free?

give it time guys... once alex savage comes around im sure there will be a few new recipes out that will give the raiders a nice gear platform to stand on. I think it was done this way so that people will all have to chance to get at least 3 DoH and one DoL to 60 with all that is required on the DOM/W side. Basically take a sharp right turn towards crafting right after you finish the main quest where as others will go for leveling other jobs. It's all about time investment. Anyways 4 weeks is plenty of time to get leveled and stocked up for whats to come. The market will be ok.

I thought yoshi said they wont be doing crafted gear as good as the 110 stuff again.

yeah i heard something along those lines as well... i dont think they will do away completely with comparable gear. something to at least enter into the first two turns. The guy has always been about options and that the more the better.
