Of course they aren't, that's silly. Most of the whispers are done using compromised (stolen) accounts. The times where it is necessary to pay for something, they use stolen credit cards. This stuff is done by organized crime rings, it's a multi BILLION dollar per year business, and it's the same people that spam in ALL MMO's. Do you really think they're going to use their own identities and money? They steal stuff from compromised accounts and sell it for real money.

I don't know about anyone else, but on Excalibur, ever since the expansion came out, I have not received one tell or seen any advertising from RMTs. So SE must've done something drastic this time around...although, I know eventually they'll be back. But it's been nice these few days.

Now that you mention it I haven't had any gil sellers sending friend requests or spamming /tells my way either since HW came out...yet in the previous weeks prior to it I was getting over up to 60+ per week I had to blacklist.
