So I just tried Aether again, seems swapping data centers helps sometimes. In character select queue now. Unfortunately, the only thing that will resolve this is more server space for the increase in playerbase. Sadly, I doubt SE will do this because this is going to be a temporary thing. A week or 2 from now it'll go back to normal.

Yeah, because all those people who don't want to deal with this shitty connection will unsubscribe. I remember why I stopped playing this game, and it has nothing to do with the damned game itself. It's been literally years, and Square still doesn't acknowledge there's a problem.

@ darkheart2033, glad some are! I am gunna try again in a few mins.. I don't have a lot of time to play these days (as I am sure neither do others), with work, family life, uni etc... and my one thing I do "just for me" I can't do.

Been looking forward to hitting up some 3.0 all day, after having no time last night due to the same errors, (by the way it happened at roughly the same time last night)
again, give us our separate datacenters, it will help both EU and NA players in the end!

It has nothing to do with a connection of any kind. It's literally the playerbase overloading the servers. Yes, they could allocate more space on the servers, but they know, from 2.0, it's a temporary thing, so from a business standpoint, it's kind of pointless. It's not that people will leave due to a bad experience. it's that the large group of people who just go in to do a quick review on the expansion, or to just try out the shiny new au'ra and new jobs will all leave once they've had their fill.
