please stop spreading misinformation. it has already been shown how that 37 item list you posted was only actually around 12 or so. they are already 1/3 of what you posted when you say you would be happy with 1/2.

    66% reduction > 50% reduction

i think everyone is in agreement that at low level things need to be more simplified because when you first start the game you will not have more than one class you are working on, but making things harder that they truly are isn't helping your stance at all. all it does is make you look bad when someone points out your major flaws in your argument.

The recipe consisted of 37 different items. That is a fact. That was what I stated.
Now, I'm not sure what you think you're talking about. Kindly stop harassing me.

Altho id have to say your somewhat off the mark, the recipe consisted of markedly less items.
The full construction diagram including recipes of recipes of recipes of recipes, however did include your 37 items.

Altho im not sure where you get the idea that anyone besides a hardcore alch ever creates shards, but whatever.~

yeah I will admit it was a while back when I made my robe, and I did not really look at that list untill I double checked it later, the list is accurate in a way, but the amount of base raw materials is a good bit less. It still bugs me though for a lv16 robe I have to go through so much ;p

It's a little strange being called a liar right before you admit I was actually right and not lying. I'm not sure what to think of that but..... thanks I guess.

I'm not sure where you got the idea that I thought anything about alchemists, as I never said anything about them. This thread has nothing to do with alchemists. I'm not sure anyone even mentioned them at all.
This thread IS about appreciating the upcoming crafting changes though. And I do, and that's what I was here to say.
Care to go on-topic for once? Try it, it wouldn't kill you. I'm sure the OP would appreciate it as well.

The list you posted is right...but wrong at the same time. I won't rehash the explanation darkstar gave because it is spot on but I will add this:

That list only applies if you are making everything yourself. That's not the way it is supposed to work. You are supposed to buy this part or that part from the ward, get your friend to make this other piece, and then you sit down with the final mats and make the item. The system allows you to level the crafts and do everything yourself... IF you want to, but most aren't going to do that. If this game had a healthy population, things would work out just as they were intended to do. In fact, in the beginning they did work just this way. It wasn't until people started dropping out of the game that this issue became one.

Just don't make it that I can make a haubergeon somehow out of a metal ingot and some cloth and I'll be happy. I want my rings!

It was never "wrong" because I only said that there are 37 different types of items in that recipe - which is correct. I never claimed that items further in the recipe couldn't be bought or anything to speed along the process/skip steps. I never even implied that. I actually said that they could be. I was only surprised that a single recipe could contain so many items.

I would have been wrong if I had said, "You absolutely have to collect every item yourself in this game," but I didn't.
I would have been wrong if I claimed that some of the 37 items didn't turn into secondary items in the recipe, but I didn't.
I never claimed or implied any of the things you think I did.

And on another note, who is to say how people are "supposed to" craft? People do many different things. People do what's right for them. What's fun for them. No one has the right to tell someone, "you're playing the game wrong."

Ok, perhaps wrong is not the right wording. Basicially, I feel that your post gives off the incorrect implication that the synth is harder and more tedious than it actually is in actual practice.

I think the issue is People with time and People without time ! In FF11 you have people who had less because they were either lazy or had lives (Job/kids/School...ect ect) or People who were pimp who might still had one of those thing above or none.

Crafters who are upset at the change is because now the Mofo with one or all of the things above will be able to jump in and craft with what time he or she has before or after (Work/School) or ( Taking care of the family). People with less Responsibility or more time to play worked in game hard for their level ! I understand !!! I use to not have (Job Family or school) but now I am a married man with work/school/wife/ and 3 kids! So I come from ff11 to this game to upgrade in the world in which I think FF14 is a beautiful game, I mainly have 2-4 hrs a day to play if I am lucky on other days its 1 hr. Not alot of time to lv my craft or gather enough money to get pimp! So I was able to get 300k and after getting the 3 gathering jobs / 6 Combat Jobs(1 is shield) / and 2 Magic jobs too Rank10 I tried to get some gear ! I spent 300k getting new hands, feet , legs, body , new fishing Rod, 3 secondary tools for gathering jobs and BAM I am broke!!!

I am sorry the cash cow will soon make things affordable, affordable will get new players in the door and then the higher levels will keep them !

I will say again I do understand why the Crafters before this patch are upset but really it isn't game breaking but I can tell you what is..............................A .............empty................game!

Thankyou for reading and I hope that you guys understand the point of view from a casual player. I am one because I have too many Responsabilities but I want to be able to atleast play the game ! There are always going to be things/gear/or items I will never have with my play time and I understand that, but in game crafting shouldn't be out of reach for those who have less time but work just as hard when they are on!
