best dps / most nerfs aside, I think I'll be leveling SMN before BLM for the sole reason that I expect SMN job quests to have a better story involved with them. I mean, c'mon, we're going to be channeling the powers of the Dreadwyrm and such

With F4 having more potency than flare (especially being under Enochian), it's all about how many times you can spam it. Given that bliz4 doesn't seem to reduce enochians timer, it might be able to indefinitely juggle Enoch.

F4>B3> B4> T2/3 for tick> F3> F4...... SharpF1> f4..

Sharp cast will have its best use on F1 to keep that firestarter proc until u need to refresh AF then right back to F4.

Edit: At 60sec recast, Enoch would have almost no downtime if u use one Bliz4. Can theorycrafters parse the dog output of fire4?

Actually according to those descriptions, Enochian isn't the 90s CD it used to have from the original video. Perhaps it's meant to be up only half the time now? IDK but regardless, 60s Enochian recast is a lot more comforting than that 90 that was quoted with the 30 > 25 > 20 > 15 system.

I think they overhauled it, based on the numbers they showed us. F4 was most certainly not 280 potency based on the other damages they showed in the video, so it got buffed, Enochian recast got chopped, refresh system scrapped. BLM is just super freaky strong in Enochian, slightly better than ARR rotations the other half the time. I can actually dig this, though I question if you'd even use B4 in that state if the above is correct.

That Fire II description is sketchy though. This might not be exactly what we're getting ...

I really hope you're right; it sounds way better than the clunkier version that Yoshi tried (and failed D: ) to show us when they were showing off the new abilities. I'm still waiting to be level 60 to feel too hopeful though because Yoshi just told us as he read the patch notes that the Ley Lines circle will not disappear if we leave it. However, that tooltip says otherwise. It makes me think we can't entirely trust the tooltips for anything yet, even for how Blizzard 4 interacts with Enochian.

I think using Sharpcast on Thunders will be better if you don't have enochian up.

I would be really happy for this, too. Though it would make me wonder what the purpose of Blizzard 4 is given that you have to be in Umbral Ice to use it. Maybe just a better filler than Blizzard 1? I guess we'll know soon enough.

For those who were thinking of going Au Ra data mining has brought the base stats:
AU RA Starting Racial Stats:

Xaela: 23 str. 20 Dex. 21 Vit. 20 Int. 17 Mnd. 19 Pie.
Raen: 17 Str. 21 Dex. 18 Vit. Int 20. Mnd 22. Pie 22.

So Raen is the best choice because +3 Int points.

Before anyone just accepts that as a fact:
You haven't seemed to notice that both Au Ra types have 20 Int, making none of both a better choice for BLM/SMN.
You could argue with the other stats and say Raen have higher Mnd for those emergency heals, but on the other hand, Xaela have higher Vit, raising their chances at survival - especially if yet another ability (Manawall) is now % of HP-based.

If you look at the bliz4 tooltip it states it gives the additional effect of Enochian, although u have to be in Enchian and UI to use it.

Definitely appears that SS/Crit will be the way to go. With bigger numbers than Flare every Crit will have more returns.
