I am so incredibly happy with the naming conventions. Especially the Xaela. I love the element of your surname identifying the tribe you belonged to.

These naming conventions!

The Raen lore says that they all abandoned the nomadic lifestyle. I wonder if it's possible there are still one or two nomadic Raen tribes out there? Or semi-nomadic ones? Or maybe a mixed tribe of traders that keep mostly to the Raen settlements and a few Xaela clans that aren't hostile? That could give you an entirely new set of possibilities.
For anyone looking for mongolian name ideas, here's a site: http://heraldry.sca.org/names/mongol...mes_marta.html

Here's a question tho, for the Xaela Kahkol tribe, I wonder if combinations of former clan names with the Kahkol clan name would come with a hyphen, like for example Mol-Kahkol or something similar, because I'm starting to build a story around the Hotgo defeat for my character's backstory and wondered how to style his clan name if it would be Hotgokahkol, or Hotgo-Kahkol, or if I should make it easier for myself but lose that part of his identity... Wish they had clarified that.
Looking on the French lore forums, they have it spelled Qalli both times, so I'd assume that to be the correct one. Surprised there are typos in these naming conventions when they dangled them over our heads for so long...

I feel ya. I'm at the same impasse. I want to go with Kahkol, but I'm sort of leaning away from it with how vague they are with the description. Honestly, I think it would hyphenate. But that's just me. The other bit of it that wasn't really elaborated on, was whether or not Kahkol would go before, or after the other tribe name. Would it be Mol-Kahkol, or Kahkol-Mol?
Anyone find a good Raen reference page? I can't find any good sites for Japanese names from that period.
I briefly skimmed over this page, but it looks like it might be very useful. Edo era names should work wonderfully I would think.

And some additional women's names.

It happened!
... as expected. B-baka, it's not like we're grateful you acted in a completely predictable manner and chastised us for being upset over not having it yet...
Humor aside, I (for one) am most grateful for getting the Au Ra naming conventions. I must needs find a good source for period Mongolian names and decide on a clan, or just screw with the RNG as suggested. Have some ideas, but I need to cement a clan and find a good given name.
Just putting this here because I promised myself I would when it finally happened:
