Still no word on Au Ra Naming Conventions?

I've been so used to char creation being tied to connectivity, I didn't know that it was offline, don't you still have to stay connected to the login/lobby server though? And yeah, that's the plan, just hit random name over and over to see what they look like. I did as someone else mentioned above reserve a name based on Mongolian culture, but that's not really a confirmed thing for the Au Ra so I may as well have put in random numbers for the usefulness of it :P Just wish I knew for sure, then I could actually be creative this time around instead of sticking with what I thought was safe and quick.

A reminder for everyone: Create a new Au Ra character with your appearance data and play around for a few mins to make sure you really like him/her. The character creator can't really show how he/she'll really look and sound in motion with the various lightings and class abilities.

This seemed like a good place to put that. I've been following this thread for almost the entire second half.

And yeah, the character server would need to stay up to be able to keep using the name randomizer or character creation screen, but it's a lot easier to get into and stay on that one than the game server.

Nope! The only check, as I recall, is when you choose a realm or finalize character creation (as it checks the name chosen against the name list of that server). Basic character creation is done client-side.

You do have to be able to get the initial connection to the server to be able to log in to a world and choose to create a new character, but if you can't do that, then, well, rip everything.

Personally, I'm still going to fantasia straight into a dragonprincess because another major component of the decision to stay Au Ra or not will be how the character looks in my massive glamour wardrobe; the benchmark is honestly pretty good at giving you an idea of how the character will appear in a variety of light situations, but how the character looks in all this junk I've accumulated over the content cycle looks good on the character. We will find out in 21 hours!
