I just hope they don't antagonize the Warriors of Darkness too much in the story.

WoD being similar to the WoL where they help protect the world and keep the balance in the world are what makes the WoD great since it shows how Darkness is not evil even if it is different.

Not to mention the whole "muhahaha I use Darkness as my power so I must be a Evil Antagonist" is already being overused in this game by the Ascians.

Villains we can relate can be great, but since the setting is so different than Final Fantasy III I don't see how a Champion of Zodiark (if that's what the Warrior of Darkness is) can be anything but evil, given what we know about him and his supporters thus far.

I read somewhere that the trailer is using the EU voice cast and that's why characters sound different. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

I don't think so. I've heard that the EU voice cast is the same as the NA cast. One of the voices sounds like Aymeric as well, which means his voice has stayed the same at least.

Listening to it again, you're totally right about Aymeric in the beginning. I didn't even notice that before, lol.

Few random clarifications from the Japanese version of the trailer:

- The Emperor there is specifically referring to primals in his little speech about "insatiable creatures."

- When the clouds part to reveal a floating continent, it's referred to as 魔大陸, the exact same name the "floating continent" has in FFVI.

- In Japanese trailers and such, in contrast to the English version, they almost always refer to the "Warriors of Light," plural. This isn't new, but it's worth noting that this trailer also uses "Warriors of Darkness" at the end. May or may not be significant.

I imagine it'd be pretty interesting to run into our counterparts in the World of Darkness.

First Step: Who the hell are you guys?!
Second Step: Pick a fight with lookalikes
Third Step: NPC steps in with claims they're not the bad guys, stops fight.
Fourth Step: Queue left handed handshake between the two Hero parties and very tentative trust established.
Fifth Step: Proceed to kick butt of enemy with dark counter parts
Sixth Step: Maybe dey ain't so bad after all?

On another topic of the trailer we know Lahabrea will be fusing with another being in 3.0. Hearing the voice I think Lahabrea is fusing with Hydaelyn when he use "the true power of the echo".

One would assume Zodiark is the one fusing with Lahabrea but Zodiark is classified as Male so the Voice speaking about the Warrior of Darkness is most likely Zodiark's voice.

Lahabrea's ability to fuse with Hydaelyn could be linked to the vision we saw at the end of 2.0. The giant crystal we see may not be Zodiark but a Corrupt Hydaelyn due to the Light being completely taken from her.
