Do you still get experience entering a dungeon without duty finder?

This feature is here to farm gear or help someone for his first clear, not for power level. To get exp from the kills your level have to be around the level of the enemy and around the level of the other party members.

I thought this was understandable, looking at how much a lv30 enemy give someone at lv 50.

Also you are not taking into consideration the new bonus xp first timers will get. Since they have to do the story. They could be looking at a level in less then 5 minutes depending on the power curve and xp boost.

Wrong, wrong wrong... there is ZERO experience for level 50 duties if you're not in duty finder. Please refer to the following quote from the preliminary patch notes.

[3.0] Players will now be rewarded experience points upon completing Duty Roulette: Main Scenario, Duty Roulette: Trials, or Duty Roulette: High Level prior to level 60.
However, players who do not use duty roulette to join level 50 duties associated with the above roulettes will not receive experience points.

So, no. if you're in roulette you'll get experience. If you're not, you won't. Simple as that.

it's for drop farming. obviously. and for getting quick easy clears so people can easily catch up through story dungeons.

Why play a RPG at all if you get to the maximum level on your first dungeon.

That said, you aren't going to drag a level 1 noob into Snowcloak and have them leveled to 50 unsynced that way. That's a horribly inefficient way because the game ALREADY PREVENTS YOU FROM DOING THAT. Go find a level 43 (I think, was it 5 or 6 levels?) monster while at level 49 and kill it. No EXP.

The OP didn't mention sync at all, and the post I quoted was inaccurate. The only time you'll get experience is in level sync content, and it won't matter if that's through DF or not.

It still sucks that they're effectively nerfing level 50 dungeon runs for no good reason.

You can't enter a dungeon without using duty finder. This isn't FFXI.
