Summoner gets no new pets in expansion

Unfortunately they are more interesting in making us shapeshifters, rather than summoners.

Have you played any Final Fantasy game before 10???? Every summon appears for literally 3 seconds, does a big boomy thing, then disappears. Which is exactly what's happening here. Besides, they said we'll be able to glamour the Egi's and their animations. It makes sense we won't be able to summon Baha and just channel his essence or something

Well quadcast only ever existed in FFVII. Ultima is a BLM spell and you're not a blm. Since you know you're evoking Bahamut and almost every move has flare in the name of his unless you want to turn into a giant character model and sit on them which hell I'd like to see

Except you kinda...you know, stabbed him in the head. I doubt he'll be doing much flaring for awhile.

Should really just leave you guys the way you are at this rate. Too much complaining from the free buffs with no downsides over petty aesthetics/pets that they even -tried- to put in, but had no time.

It honestly should be called Mega or Gigaflare. Bahamut uses Teraflare in the opening cinematic (starts casting it just as the adventurers are thrown five years into the future) as well as in T13. It certainly looks to be more of a Mega, so I'm inclined to agree. Could of later down the road added Giga/Tera too, assuming they increase the LB level further, but I soppose that isn't the route there taking. Not that I'm complaining, having a LB that isn't a rock falling from the sky will be welcomed.

I for one like the route Summoner is going. We are now more of a summoner/blue mage like job that channels the powers of some of the famous summons out there instead being so reliant on the summons we bring out. Pet class/jobs always have in any mmo and issue of being to reliant on the pets they bring out. I for one like the change to be more about the summoner and less about the pet.

I agree that the bahamut trance is a step in the right direction, being something more akin to summoning then Fester that is for sure, though I disagree on pet reliance, at least for XIV as we hardly interact as is. Here's hoping the adjustments warrant some actual use from ifrit's abilities.
