Hmm, well I doubt it's the warring triads. Of course they are also in a state of equilibrium, but there are 3 sides there. This equilibrium is seamingly between two sides. The warriors of light and darkness.

Which does bring into question my idea of what it is. It could be Zodiark for all we know after all. We shall know more once we can finally get into the main story to find out. I for one can't wait.
It's weird seeing that the WoL getting stronger seems to be the Aciens plan, but then again it was mostly Lahabrea and his lackeys wanting the WoL getting stronger. We now know the Asciens pretty much have different goals/ motivations :Lahabrea vs Nabriales vs Elidibus
Perhaps the Warrior(s) of Darkness might be Elidibus' plan? He seems to know that Lahabrea is up to no good by Ascien standard.
Crazy Theory;
The Warriors of Darkness will be the Scions of the Seventh Dawn. They're all missing. They're still all missing in the trailer (while Raubahn seems to have escaped). Then there is that teaser at the end of 2.55; Urianger meeting with Elidibus, the fate of this star? Restoring equilibrium? Going back further there is the whole "If you knew the truth, you would be on our side"... I'm calling it, the Scions will be the Warriors of Darkness, having learned the "truth".
I assume this will be the finale of 3.0 and likely wont be resolved for a while, just like "Holy crap there is an army of Ascians" wasn't ever really resolved at the end of 2.0 (though I guess the 2.5 fight could count). Perhaps the actual Warriors of Darkness wont be the Scions, but I can see the Scions switching side for a second go at that Thancred/Lahabrea reveal, but with the stakes significantly raised...

Someone on the subreddit speculated that it could be Minfilia. The female voice in the trailer sounded almost like hers (if you could like squint with your ear.) Unlikely, but just a thought
If you are talking about that female voice who "merges" with Lahabrea at the end of trailer, I've listened to the JP version and I'm afraid that she has nothing to do with Minfilia, since Miyuki Sawashiro's voice is so unique and I never miss her in the trailers before.
Just hope that, if we are ever to fight the WoD, it's a fight designed for us to lose in.
The WoL keeps winning its no fun at all. A fight akin to how Kuja epicly kicked zidane 's party's butt would be awesome
You know what, I like this idea.
Well if it is a one on one battle we will definitely lose. And yes, there is no fun in facerolling gods. I could imagine us wining the fight and afterwards in the cutscene the WoD being all: "okay enough fooling around. Time to fight like man. And ladies. And ladies who dress like men" and one shooting us with a cool WoD ability.
But if Hydaelin and Zodiark are to sides of the same coin wouldn't it be safe to say wer both the warrior of light and warrior of darkness it could be more like they need to switch every few eras to hold some kind of balance.
End of 1.0 WoL failed. Oh hi Bahamut
End of 2.55 WoL failed. I think we all know what happened here
He has a good track record on the small things but on the big important things he falls hard on his face.
