Varis' line could have been interpreted to be either the beastman tribes or the Primals, but they're one in the same for the most part at current.

The "Warrior of Darkness" English line takes some nuance, but though it doesn't outright state there's more than one it's heavily implied. "You and yours" referring to one individual Warrior of Darkness and the others like him/her.

Yeah, I just took that out of my post becuase I read through the English again with my brain working. Figured someone would quote-capture it, though, because each and every one of my minor failures exists to be preserved in crystal for all eternity. XD

Other than that, Varis outright says banshin in the Japanese, which leaves no room for doubt. I suspect the English script covers that in either the line before or after. They've really very good about not changing too much in the Main Scenario at least. Just brought it up to keep our speculation constrained to the actual meaty stuff.

Well, I figured it was causally possible. I mean, if there's a Warrior of Light, there must be a Warrior of Darkness as well.

Y'know, Kingdom Hearts "the closer you get to light, the deeper your shadow becomes" type shit.

As to who the Warrior(s) of Darkness could be - best guess? Minfilia & co. They weren't confirmed to be dead, and if Lolorito really is an Ascian or in league with them, it's not unthinkable they were captured, handed over to the Ascians, and told whatever truths Elidibus was so convinced would sway us to their cause.

Remains to be seen, and like everything else, is ultimately an unknown 'fore we touch 3.0. Gonna avoid further speculation, though, especially since I'm going to have to power through 30 - 50 as DRK before I really get into 3.0.

I dunno, it looks like any old plain ash mask. Maybe it's our disguise so we can sneak into the Waking Sands and nab something left behind?
