New Players, Fresh 50s and Heavensward.

So, what's going to happen those new players and fresh 50's who want to play Heavensward.
As we already know they have to do this (imo) VERY annoying main story questline.

While it makes quite sense (bleh bleh story driven game yada yada), how is it with the
item level requirements?

Will they still have to grind hours and hours for iLvL 90 gear to be able to play Heavensward?

Are there new ways coming for those players to hit that requirement?

Everyone will have to complete the whole current main scenario to be able to access HW content. Item level requirements for the new dungeons are likely to be at least i100 for level 50, as the previous ones have been i70, i80 and i90. I doubt there will be new ways to obtain the old level 50 gear outside the new level 50 content. Perhaps it will be possible to optain the new uncapped tomestones (those that will be added in launch) from old content, perhaps only from the new.

No. No one even has to do this now. i100 gear drops from dungeons like candy and you can sleep through WoD and get i120 pieces all day long if you want to as well.

They're supposedly adding gear rewards to the level 50 MSQs to help with gear.

Just unlock and run all the level 50 dungeons you haven't done, most of them drop gear with nice item levels and you get soldiery which you can buy i100-i110 gear with. Unlocking and running Crystal Tower series gets you item level 80, 100 and 120 gear drops. It doesn't take long to get at least to item level 90 or 100.

I do realize this. I also realize it would take them just a handful of hours to go from Ilvl 50 to ilvl100 (seen it personally in new players in my FC). Also to point out, if a new player isn't up to snuff to run a lvl 50 dungeon from patch 2.3, then they have no business being in Ishgard attempting level 50+ content until they are strong enough.

Just like every other RPG in existence, so what is the issue again?

Hunts work damn well for this, however.

I'm in no rush. Digging the journey. Once I finish the main story as Ninja I want to level a couple of other jobs/crafts. Heavensward content will still be there.
