Chrono Cross wasn't that good as a Chrono game. It was good as a standalone RPG, but as a sequel to Chrono Trigger not so much. I'm half expecting it to be a Chrono Trigger remaster bit (basically what Chrono Resurrection would have been).I would just like to remind you that Hiromichi Tanaka No longer works for Square. (Producer, battle system design credits)
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
I strongly dislike Cross for several reasons but to sum it up in a short way, hate the combat system, hate the characters, hate the story.
I will however grant you that Cross was a graphically beautiful game (like with Chrono Trigger that's for it's time, it really made good use of the PS1's capabilities) and the soundtrack is definitely one of the best I've heard in a while. I actually did enjoy the remakes of the CT songs they used.
Edit:
If that is announced, I will need new pants.

I'm holding onto my hype for the actual event. Though I am hoping that they debut the FF Portal App for release outside of Japan.
iirc there was some official survey quite a while ago where SE asked which of their "abandoned" series players would like the most to have a new game...
and 80% ppl said they wanted a new Chrono game
Edit: More info here http://www.gamespot.com/articles/square-enix-asks-what-game-you-want-it-to-make-nex/1100-6425781/ and http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/950181-chrono-trigger/71387454 (although they do not show the %, idk where i got that 80% from )
More than anything, I want The World Ends With You 2.
hope they show something about the new FFXI games too , curious about how its gonna work
Star Ocean games are interesting but I miss the days when games actually have Sequels rather than Pre-Sequels.
Don't get me wrong it is nice we get to see a section of the Time Line for SO but so many back tracking in the timeline makes it lose a little flare it once had in the storyline.
