plus its simple logic that a signal being sent over seas vs being sent over land is going to take longer.. 1000 miles is much longer and takes more time than 500 miles it makes a HUGE difference

There wasn't a "MMO networking" class but i've had enough networking lessons to know that latency causes this. The circle thing anyway. NPCs are different, there may be some objects that they don't need to obey the physics on due to errors in scripting.

This argument went on for a few years during XI's prime. If you're not well educated in telecommunications don't bother giving a 20 page explanation (assumptions) "proving," that this is the issue. It's not.
Nice video Cel. Posting to add my voice to the many others that are frustrated with this.
So your saying lag has nothing to do with it?^

ITT: Lag Based Clipping > Server Side Optimization, Party Mechanics Overhaul, Search Functions, Sordid Payment Systems, Inconsistent Exp Gains, Cut'n'Paste Overworld/Maps, Rehashed Mobs, Erratic Mob Levels, Kooky Mob Behavior + They're All Secretly Archers, and Claiming System.
Now I'm gonna let you finish, but "My Little Chocobo" had one of the best threads EVER.
If you don't think new summoner is better, you're playing the wrong game.
Can we get a dev post about this? It's been far too long without any info on how the server fixes are going. I've been waiting since beta for this game to get better and it has, but to not know that this game wont or will be able to have simple features like linkshell commands, Item links and not be able to dodge a cone attack because of server issues and SE can't do anything about it. I've been waiting for this game to get better for a long time but now that SE is held back by something like this is very discouraging.

Wow. I was aware of a delay, but I didn't realize how pronounced it was. Yeah, clearly this is something that needs addressing.
yeah a dev post would be nice about now.. i had no idea how bad this was until i saw that youtube vidCan we get a dev post about this? You're* (Failed those english classes, eh?)
No, I'm not saying that lag has nothing to do with it. I'm saying that the physical locations of the servers has nothing to with it. That's not what's causing the lag. I guess you never touched upon telecommunications?
I'm sure in the end if it is a server issue where its not updating enough, they probably have their reasons for keeping it so slow, wouldn't want to melt something you shouldn't. This game isn't making any profit so they may not be able to afford the best servers or additional ones for more power and load balancing until SE does make more money, on this or... well honestly after FF9... maybe they will accept donations![]()
