I guess since I knew about this since beta I just kinda figured everyone did. I guess when you dont have 2 computers running FFXIV at the same time this crap is shocking to see![]()

I have 8 crafts at 50. All I did was watch T.V. and spam standard for easy mode synths. Enjoy leveling those crafts in 1.19 and beyond everyone!
I'm surprised they still haven't fixed the bug where a mob attacks you from out of range, you take the damage but nothing appears in your log to indicate you've been hit.

yeah i'm not playing again until this is DIRECTLY addressed before any other content.. i mean COME ON!! WoW was never THIS BAD! at least it still showed you running in a circle and not a triangle.. heck screw chocobos while this crap is going on! rebuild and SPREAD OUT the servers first there is no need to keep them all in Japan SE seriously your a corporation i'm sure you have offices and facilities here in the US and other countries..
I've had this weird stuff on Batraal. At several different occasions, when I tried doing Skull Sunder while standing right behind him, it would say "out of range". The Eye's animation and the actually effect range never seem to really respond either.
The issue of this extremity has nothing to do with where the servers and clients are based. I always laugh my ass off when someone brings this up again.SPREAD OUT the servers first there is no need to keep them all in Japan SE seriously your a corporation i'm sure you have offices and facilities here in the US and other countries..

This happens with all MMOS though, you probably just don't notice it because its more subtle. For instance Guildwars which servers are base in the US, even playing in the US, you may be running with your friend, you appear to be in front, on his computer its the opposite. Your position is sent to the server every interval, the server does the work to move the character to that position on your friends computer running in circles on any mmo usually turns into a octagon, at best. Your bandwidth isn't the problem here, its your ping related, yet not the same thing. Bandwidth = what you could do, Ping = what you are doing after net traffic, distance, connection to your router. Those computers were side by side, i'm assuming your in the united states meaning, computer 1 sent position information to Japan Server, after Server receives it checks for lost packages, computer 1 may have to resend position to japan 2 or 3 more times, and then japan server needs to send the position to computer 2 way back in America next to computer 1 possible 3 or 4 times, each time that huge distance needs to be traveled. This lost packets and high ping (high is bad) causes some points of position to be lost and therefore circle becomes square.
In short: Its because the server is in japan and your not, I would be interested in seeing 2 computers in japan close to the server doing the same test.
NPC issues may be a problem with lost packets or "ghosts" where you see something that's moved but you never received the packet containing the change of position. Same way if you see a friend logged off but his character is standing there in front of you.

This needs to be sorted, along with the "fall through the floor whenever you want to" glitch that's been in since beta.
You can skip several parts of darkhold with that glitch. You can run from the area just before you get to the first mobs to the first room by falling down to it and then from the second room you can fall through the floor and run down to the circle at the end of the first floor, avoiding almost every mob on the way.
I'm glad that they made it so that you need to pop the circles, or else you could run straight to Batraal's room from the very first mobs and avoid everything in the dungeon...
yes that makes perfect sense there. it would not be so bad if the signal didn't have to go over seasThis happens with all MMOS though, you probably just don't notice it because its more subtle. Lets face it, it wont be fixed same as the floor glitch.
This has nothing to do with where the servers are physically located. It has everything to do with how often the game client updates the servers on any changes in player movement. Unfortunately, it's a deeply rooted problem to which I see no reasonable fix - least not in the near future or even before the year ends.
I posted this on BG but figured I'd ask here too. Are you using Leatrix Latency Fix on those machines and if not would you care to run that test again and post your results? I want to know if it has any real impact on this game like it does for so many others (WoW, Aion, Warhammer, etc etc).
I want a rep to post in this thread and bring this to the attention of the devs because this is something that is very important to the future of this game.

This same thing happens in FFXI (along with the running through the ceiling glitch) but not nearly to the same extent as in this game.

Again I'd like to see the test done in japan, its the only way to know. Most MMOs have dedicated European, American, and Asian servers for a reason after-all. It's not just for language.
