    not only one that is pissed and angry over this... glamor only changes its appearance nothing else. just that. how is that gonna make any difference. there still same bloody skills we been using sense end of time.

    look all we asked for was verity in pets a feel like a summoner. nothing overpowered nothing drastic. but instead we get revamped actions and a ability bahamut uses.

    BIG Bloody Deal. we never wanted summon or needed any bahamuts moves in first place. this is total absolute troll from squire enix. basically saying indirect manner -screw you. we don't care what you want. we still have your money so haha-

    seriously plus summoner job isn't only job in game is it most f-d over "Yes" no other job had most issues as summoner. summoner has been uproar sense it came out instead making problem better they made it worst

    I pretty sure ppl who played summoner for long time. there is other games this isn't final fantasy game anymore. there not gonna change it. there gonna gonna add any new pets. there expansion it sucks. why pay for it why post and rate about it too. why pay that much money for a game that gives tiny about of skill and action changes . other wise this expansion gets a big fail

    why pay for something you cannot no longer enjoy ruined only class you enjoyed. what better way to tell them yoshi-P this sucks by simply walking away from how horrid this game is

    Tbh Summoner shouldn't be a pet class like the WoW Warlock (which it currently is).
    Summoners in Heavensward seem more closely to how I'd want summoners to be. I'm switching back to SMN Main as soon as early access opens up. It'll be my first 60.

    I'm not raging about Summoner, but I understand the frustration. I simply don't understand what they were thinking with the design... in fact I'd say they really weren't thinking about the direction / future of the job at all.

    I also don't understand how if they were able to accomplish having a total of 21 varying summon pets (if you count the Spirits) TWENTY-ONE, with Summoner in Final Fantasy XI a game from 15 years ago, all with different move sets and actions, that they "simply could not integrate it properly" into XIV... this makes no sense.

    The game mechanics, lore, graphic limitations, not cluttering up other player's screens etc, ALL require thought to design around, but it IS 100% POSSIBLE to accomplish here.

    MY frustration comes from;

    A) SE's lazy attitude towards this job class

    B) The overall community's attitude towards people like the OP (though a little too rage-y for my tastes) and myself who want realsummon pets, not these 3 dinky little turds that back in XI we got as SMN lvl 1.

    Please, I ask that all of you stop defending Square-Enix's poor design choices here. PLEASE join us and speak up for them revamping the current design! Only if we all voice our distaste will they actually be moved to make a change. People are so quick to judge and take criticism of Summoner in the XIV community as a PERSONAL attack on their beloved game. Yet, I rarely meet anyone who wouldn't enjoy being able to play as Summoner and...you know... actually SUMMON things. For some reason everyone gets all uppity when it's even suggested that this be made reality though. That or people are afraid of change?

    I don't get it.

    It's easy for us, to speak out and ask SE to change the job into something more similar to what XI accomplished and past Summoner classes represent, but ONLY if we all ask for it TOGETHER.
    It's hard for SE. They're getting crazy amounts of money from us all, so why should we be making it easy for them? Their solution is to throw lame "fixes" like egi glamors at us rather than actually you know, do the hard work?


    Please don't respond with to any of my posts with "GO PLAY XI IF YOU LOVE IT SO MUCH" attitudes. That's a ridiculous argument. I played SMN in XI for 10 years, it was great, but I'm done. I prefer XIV and I love my PLD, DRG and BLM, looking forward to DRK, so no I won't be leaving.

    I would however love to play SMN again, and adventure around rocking a horn. But the current design in XIV is extremely disappointing to me, so I'm going to advocate changes until... hopefully... someday it's more reflective of how I (and many others) would like it to be.

    Twenty-one? Are we really going to count the 8 elementals as unique summons? Really? Okay let's say that we do, FFXI summoner had 21 different summons and do you know what it got them? They were a second class WHM for YEARS. You didn't bring a SMN cause it was awesome and powerful, you brought a SMN cause there were no WHMs looking for party. It's not the quantity that counts, it's the quality.

    This game is based on the holy trinity of tank, healer, dps. Current Summoner has pets capable of tank, melee DPS and ranged DPS, only lacking the pet healer aspect which is reserved for SCH anyway. How do you want them to make new summons exactly? They can't go outside of these roles cause then SMN becomes a MUST HAVE class for all content cause they bring something to the table which no other job does. This is something that SE is actively trying to avoid because they want all party compositions to be viable.

    A) You say SE is lazy in regards to SMN but what do you want? You want SE to put in 7 times the work on SMN than it does on any other job? New abilities for Garuda, Titan, Ifrit, while implementing a full ability set for Leviathan, Ramuh and Shiva, and new abilites for the SMN itself? All while the other jobs only get 5 new abilites period. Instead while everyone else gets 5 new abilities, SMN gets 5 new abilities for the SMN itself and several reworked and/or new abilities for a tank summon, a melee summon and a ranged dps summon but no, you're right, they're pretty lazy.

    B) I and most other people are just sick of these topics is why threads like this get so much backlash. SMN threads have popped up by a very vocal minority since the game was re-released almost 2 years ago. Not just every now and then either, it's been brought up over and over and over again. This whole topic of new egis was even discussed at great length a month ago across 3 different 20 page+ threads but clearly we needed another one because reasons.

    There are plenty of people who have no problem with SMNs general design. The real, actual problems that SMN has are being addressed. The actual problems that plague SMN were related to MP issues which caused them to run dry too quick which was partially addressed by changing the Ruin II MP cost and a general lack of burst damage which makes them unpleasant to take into progression fights of high end raids. If you have a tight DPS check that you can barely meet like adds, then taking a slow burn job like SMN isn't typically your best option unless the SMN in question is incredibly good at their job (most aren't). This is being addressed with the new direct damage abilities and tri-disaster along with other changes which have been hinted at. These adjustments are much more valuable than playing pokemon with primals.

    So first off, the concept of design in itself is ridiculously broken given that you can't actually properly use Titan Egi as a "tank" when you have a group formed. What exactly is the point of having your pets play roles when you can't actually use them in those roles outside of solo play? You can't sign up in DF as a SMN tank. Mistake #1 on their behalf creating the job in this manner.

    Summon pets should just all be DPS, with higher HP and Defense or self-heals as to allow solo play. Which leads me to...
