Particularly since they seem to have no problem with artwork countdowns and stuff. You can't tell me those news posts don't require translation too.Square, come on! The fact they're not giving a single you-know-what about people who actually care about the lore is really unsettling. There's less than a week until EA and not only have they STILL not released names but they're still completely silent beyond "Please look forward to it" weeks ago! Someone please make the post already, Square! >.<

Nobody likes being told "soon™, guys!" so close to the wire. And then 2 weeks passing with, still, nothing.
The artwork countdown takes no real effort, it's one sentence. Most of the news posts have been translated for some time, if you went to go look on the official Heavensward sub-site; they don't really have any new information.
EDIT
About 10x more important is getting my PS4's EA code...

This. I've been checking every single day (like many of us here, more than likely) for both of these things. "These are scheduled to be delivered to users before the start of early access," better not mean "We'll release them during the 24h maintenance ending on the day of early access."
If they do the same thing for naming conventions I've no doubt many of us will be more salty than we are now, even with understanding that the team are working 15+ hour days to give us this expac on time.
Well, I don't check daily for the EA code; while it is of great importance, it's not really critical to have until it's needed. I check when I remember to, lol.
Auri naming conventions and social structure, on the other hand... yeah. Would like some time to come up with about half a dozen potential names so if one's already taken I have backups. With the rate things are going, though, we aren't going to have them before EA.

Yeah, that pending status is starting to make me nervous.
I'll still be upset though if naming conventions aren't ready for early access. It'll be weird going through content as an Au'ra with a Miqo'te name (yes, that's the sort of thing that bothers me).

Well the PS3/4 EA codes aren't entirely on SE. That requires cooperation from Sony and figuring out how to do it... though if they did the same thing for ARR, they should already know how to do it and what's required for EA.
In-game lore stuff (or vital supplementary web material), though, is entirely on SE. C'mon, guys!

Bookmarking this thread. SE pls ;_; I want names for my au ra all set and ready to go!
People keep bringing up Mongolians, but I only see Native American themes. This even fits into the gender differences
In most Native American tribes the men performed leadership, hunting, gathering, etc. Women were caretakers and homemakers. This fits the "powerful" male and "Moe" female motif that the Au'Ra have.
Native Americans occasionally had an exception to the rule above, called "Two-Spirits" who were believed to house male and female souls (read: transgender). Depending on the tribe those people would either perform ALL roles withing the tribe, or whichever roles they aligned with, but aside from that gender roles were very static.
The topic for that sort of discussion is this way. This is where people go to vent their frustrations in regards to (still!) waiting for the Auri naming conventions theyselves.People keep bringing up Mongolians, but I only see Native American themes. This even fits into the gender differences

However for the sake of argument, while I can't comment on plains American Indians, the eastern forest tribes' women were caretakers and homemakers, but they were also the farmers. The men were the hunters and gatherers. That's about the extent of my knowledge on the topic, though, so take it for what you will.
