You think we would get the option to switch races? Seeing how we didnt have the choice of these NEW RACES when we all started.

There is no "IF" anymore.

Correct. It was never stated whether or not they would be playable. :3
I don't mind either way. I would like to be able to see them as well.

I would hope the devs know that introducing a cool new race to XIV, but it not being playable, would kinda be a slap in the face lol... I mean they could have easily done it with Male Mithra in XI, but they didn't. Therefore I find it hard to believe they would here.
