Considering it takes maybe a day to get to the point where you need to unlock another class....
The *only* thing I'd need for my bard if I keep it there(probably switching when I get to HW to AST but eh) is Blood for Blood. My Lancer is 22. Already almost too old for it. I already have the useful stuff from Pugilist.
Working Thaumaturge now to 26 for Swiftcast. Conj is 30, Arcanist is 34. As I've complained about in a few threads now, no only are certain jobs limited to certain classes for cross class skills, the selection of which is incredibly limited. You have most all of what you need super early, and everyone takes the EXACT. SAME. SKILLS. There's no room for choice anywhere.
He's a Dragoon. It took him an afternoon to get Marauder to 15, it'll take him another afternoon to get I think it was Pugilist he uses? to think it's 12 Internal Release and Second Wind, and then he's done.
You don't get the item until they've paid for their first month. It's greatly outlived it's usefulness by then, especially with the 30 days free. Getting to 25 in all jobs before that 30 days is up is *not* unfeasible, especially when you have no intention to level more than one Job.
This man isn't an alt person. He picks a class and he stays with it regardless of how bad it sucks. He's not going to play anything *but* his Dragoon. I'll tell you that now.
My problem is less of the item's restrictions and more of when you get it. WoW's RAF bonuses apply the moment they create an account, not after it's been paid once. The mounts take a little while, but the xp bonuses are immediate.
I kinda gotta agree, making it so that it goes to 50 instead of 25 is a good idea. Why?
Because level 1-50 is officially "Old" content. It's no longer current, our new game is 50-60, and we should want to see people getting there as soon as possible. The climb from 1-50 is already a tredge enough as-is, there's no reason not to expedite it a little.
I know World of Warcraft has mechanics like this to help people get instantly leveled to the current expansion-related content, which I think is a very good idea. I'm not saying give the levels for free, but reducing the grind is a good idea considering the rate at whcih we actually learn to apply our skills.

Mantra is at 42, though admittedly it's a toss-up between taking that or Foresight.

why not? cant hurt to put use to them
He's not getting Mantra. *I* will not get Mantra. I have 0 like for the class and refuse to level it that far. Besides, if you have a monk, you want them doing it. Note, he's also not a raider, and isn't even remotely hardcore so it really doesn't matter. Not to mention that it has 0 effect on the topic at hand here, which is an item that's useless for any job once you pass level 25.
