Does having the PS4 phyiscal CE mean I will have to start using the disk to play?

Well, the thing is because I will be getting early access I will not need the disk to install, but because it is the physical edition I will need to register it after, because of the way PSN authenticates I assume, and to my understanding anyone that has the physical PS4 version has to use the disk regardless of it being installed or not.

Either way, I hope you're right. But I will like more information on it.

correct, in order for a 'proper' installation aka the actually release date you will have use of your disk or a code to say you have access to this content and using the disk or code (the code is only given out by SE if there is a issue with your delivery) but once you have installed thats it you shouldn't need the disk :3

Early access is like downloading a demo you get a bit but not the full experience the disk will give you.

I've been playing since PS3 beta and this always been digital so I'm curious about this myself. BUT to my experience unless the client is completely erased and a new one given which I believe happened in Beta my client has always simply updated as needed.

I assume/hope HW is no different
