It's true that they expanded the servers, but as I pointed out, the addition of the Gold Saucer caused similar problems for awhile where people weren't able to enter the zone. They made the servers larger so they wouldn't have to have auto logouts. I'm against them even with balmung and gilgamesh's instability lately. I'm hoping they just lock the servers(from transfers as well) for awhile after the expansion is released. New people who come for the expansion can populate the lower pop servers.

It's beyond stupid to not have auto logout.
It adds absolutely nothing positive to the game to have your character AFK all day in Mor Dhona or your house or whatever, and it has been proven to lead to higher queues and server congestion both in this game and others.
I don't understand why they ever turned it off.

Since they took out auto logout, my longest natural login queue has been 5 seconds. By natural I mean when there wasn't a problem, like when hunts use to crash a map(which has been addressed).
IMO, if I like it or not, auto logout will be added if needed. I'm sure the devs are smart enough to make the call. But I don't think it will be needed. We'll have to see.
I don't, but even a few days doesn't necessarily justify auto logout.

Even if those few days are the Early Access period? That's going to go over well.
I'm not really sure why people feel the need to AFK for hours at a time, honestly. Just send Mog Mail if you need to reach someone who's offline!

You're assuming that it will be an issue since the golden saucer was. The golden saucer is just one map vs many in the expansion. It may not be an issue.
Like I said before, I'm sure the devs will add auto logout if it's needed.
Personally, even if I couldn't get into a HW map for a day I wouldn't be mad. I'm not easily upset though. Even if they did add auto logout I'd get over it. /shrug

Agreed. Doesn't make sense for people who aren't playing to have a negative impact on people who do want to play. One of my friends was recently afk for a couple of weeks, only interrupted by brief one-minute bursts of activity every couple of days or so, and he would shuffle a few steps over and go back afk again. It's beyond stupid to not have auto logout.

I remember it being an issue for a few days, depending on what time of day it was.
Since you seem to be against the implementation of an auto log out feature, I would love to hear your reasoning. How do you feel the feature would negatively impact gameplay?
gold saucer was everybody going and staying in ONE area.
at HW release people'll spread over new areaS for exploration, doing HWMSQ, xping 50+, or even go back to ARR's area to level new jobs, and wobn't just stay in isgard
