Some limiters are a very sensible and reasonable approach to the scenario.
Then with that attitude.. ban women from wearing men's gender specific gear. It's needs to be equal from a gamers point of view. I do not care about your real life vendetta's at all. But playing the game as a whole, if we are going to restrict male character's ability to wear everything, female characters need the same treatment. It is only fair.

And obviously you're quite wrong, and it's just your opinion. Female's have been able to wear gear that was supposed to be male only, yet nothing has "crumbled" yet....

Ouch, you don't really have to be so aggressive, this is a civil discussion.

There's a clear difference between the clothing of sexes, the only one is not the fact that each wears their own. Mens clothing have traits that are interchangeable and quite harmless, as a woman wearing mens clothes is not a big deal almost anywhere, unless you live in some specific countries with quite harsh laws and such. In complete contrast, womens clothes oft have traits such as femininity, gracefulness and other feminine traits that not only define the gender, but also bring out the wonderful aspects of it.

By 'making it even', as you suggest, the unique aspect and charm of female characters would pretty much be muddled down, only to be held aloft with hairstyles and such, maybe males and females should have the same hairstyles as well, just to complete the shift? Don't be obtuse.

You may want to consider that most people won't see man dressing as woman as "normal", but woman wearing suits is usually accepted. Not saying it's a good thing, since I honestly couldn't care less if you're a dude and like wearing fancy dresses or whatever, but simply because you want it to be this way doesn't change how other people look at such things.

Females are given the choice to dress in whatever gear they want, but this is not seen as problematic. Why is it problematic for guys to dress in whatever gear they want? Why would that make the thematic appearances crumble, but females being unrestricted does not cause a crumbling? Is excluding guys from vanity gear the way to preserve thematic appearances of each race/sex/job, which are not threatened by not excluding girls?

    EDIT:
I think one of the issues here is that people who play male characters are locked out of some gear they might like. They might look at the bunny crown, for example (completely harmless and bunny boys are considered cute uguu), and know it's not available to them because of their gender choice. When players with female characters face such a situation, the gear is made available to them, thus creating a situation where people with female characters are catered to by getting exclusive extras that the male characters do not get.

Even male hairstyles (Rush hairstyle, anyone?) are being made available to females.

Even if you ignore looks and whether people'd want to use it or Japanese society, in-game, there is an arbitrary divide between males and females where one sex gets exclusive extras.

Regardless it really is just your opinion on that matter though, the games "society" isn't going to go up in flames just because males have the same access to glamors as females doe. But I'm sorry to say, SE has been very well thought out when it comes to keeping this game balanced as a whole, and this is just another aspect that greatly needs to be balanced out equally. And the fact you're the one calling me "obtuse" despite it's actual meaning, would be a personal attack on me.... so be careful how you tread...

I'm sorry that it apparently freaks you out so much you have to speak your mind out about men wearing women clothing, but I've seen it before and in real life, and I don't understand the issue. I do not want to take away the female characters ability to wear male clothing, but if it's the only way to have fairness in the video game, then that's what needs to be done. For the sake of being fair to every gamer.

Well what if I told you it was odd for me to see women in men's outfits, and it wasn't "normal" as you so stress it for me? Would I be against your norm then? I'm sorry again I do not care for what ever real life vendetta people have, for the game itself and it's fairness to both the sexes people can play inside this video game it needs to be fair and equal.

By that logic, the unique aspect and charm of male characters have already been muddled down, only to be held aloft by hairstyles and such. Every single male exclusive glamour has a female counterpart, but the reverse isn't true.
