I just googled the first sentence of that "quote", and no, it doesn't actually exist. It's someone attempting (poorly) to troll.

actually I doubt anyone would think that was a Joke. With as many things throughout XIV's lifetime that have been getting pushed back a patch, til relaunch or expansion; "quoting" that could have been real and I, for one, wanted to know its authenticity before launch. The fact that the multi-languages are taking so long to translate the Naming Conventions just leads to what other troubles could they be hitting

While I won't comment on the taste of the joke itself, I will point out that this is common in humor: Making light of trends and tendencies. Something that happens frequently is frequently a target, as it were.

Just because something's quoted doesn't mean it's an official statement, or even that it was a forum post by anyone.

Can't comment on the taste of the joke, but people shouldn't have to spoonfeed you that it's a joke.

(Though, given they're working 12s and seemingly are too swamped to translate the Auri naming conventions and the lore behind them, I'm a bit scared we won't have them before EA or launch. Just my 2 cents.)

I have to admit I'm starting to get worried about this too. If they don't release this soon then they're going to have a flood on their hands when people all over the place go to change their character names. Not something the Mog Station needs when it's already going to be fielding Pre-order codes, registration, etc.
