You realize that regardless of where you pre-order from you still have to wait until SE makes the data available to download rather then anything to do with PSN. and that won't likely happen until the 19th. So the only advantage people in the US have is they won't have to download that extra 1.7 Gb on the 19th.

Except sakura, the NA has MORE then enough time for people to get the expansion, EU servers are going to get screwed the same day early access starts. and anyone ps3 or ps4 who tries to get it has a very high (read almost certain) chance of not being able to download the damn thing due to either ddos or server congestion.

There's you EU date now. Wake up at 00:00 buy the game go to bed , wake up early in the morning and enjoy the game. Don't see what the problem is cause you WILL still be able to play with everyone for early access on the same day.

Thanks for the update and at least we all get to play the game at the same time.

The game wont be available at 00:00 the store doesn't update that way. Most of the time the South African PSN store only updates in the afternoon. Also then figure in slow connection speeds and not being able to load the game before the release

If that is the case on the day, then that isn't too bad. But like others have said, they aren't going to put the game on PSN at midnight. Most likely it will be later on in the day, so we are definitely going to miss out on at least some of early access. Then if you factor in awful download speeds, and any bugs that could occur... basically I am not that optimistic that I'll get much out of EA, especially not on the first day!

As long as it doesn't effect them and their play time. Its fine right?

I think the none EU people replying really don't get the issue.

"But this could happen and that could happen" All valid, but at least you can pre-order at least you will be ready on the day.

Our anger is justified, and there ain't a damn thing you can say that will change our opinions. A very poor service from a company, that quite frankly should know better.

And this was after they decided to charge us quite a bit more for the same game. For all the extra money they'll be getting from us they could at least have the pre-order be ready in advance, you know, like the term pre-order implies!

I still hope for it to be on EU PSN nex week.(that community response just being a generic dont woory itll be availible thing)
If not i get the standart physical, SE appearently does not whant my extra cash form the Digital CE then.
But still as EU customer i fell treated like shit, not only because we will get it late, but also because of the lack of communication, clearness, transparency and acknowledgement of our worrys.
We got a response but it made everything worse, noone is happy about the 19th date. And everyone is fearing issues like the NA version had, wich means we propably miss out on early acces all together. And it feels that SE doesnt care about us customers.

As a fellow EU player, I can understand that people are angry about the EU Community Rep’s response, rather than happy about hearing an official date which happens to be the starting date of the Early Access. But that does not give people permission to use foul language to someone else to express their frustration/disappointment/anger. Believe it or not, the employees from SE, the FFXIV team and the Community Reps are still human beings which are to be treated with a certain degree of respect (like you would towards any other human being), whether you agree with them or not.

On top of that, the delay of the Pre-order on the EU PSN Store does not fully lie with SE, but Sony’s EU release policy as well. I’ve seen multiple occasions on the PSN Store where the EU players would get access to the content, which has been published on the NA/JP Store weeks prior to that.

This is what Shuhei Yoshida had to say about that in another (non FFXIV related) article:

Quote Originally Posted by Shuhei Yoshida @ Eurogamer.net

Lots of PlayStation 3 owners do. And so does Sony worldwide studios boss and avid gamer Shuhei Yoshida.

One of the most long-standing complaint against Sony's PlayStation Store set up is that the content differs by region. Because Sony Computer Entertainment divisions operate independently, what's released on the US Store may not be released on the European Store, and vice versa.

Sometimes content that appears on the US Store fails to turn up on the European Store in a timely fashion or not at all. Recent high-profile examples include the disparity between release dates for the superb Walking Dead series, Retro City Rampage, and the mysterious case of the missing-in-action Valve FPS Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

There are a number of reasons for these delays. Sony's regional approach means games must be submitted to SCEA and SCEE separately. Each has their own QA and certification process and each signs their own contracts with publishers and developers. It means games can pass certification in the US and fail in Europe, for whatever reason.

Localisation often causes delays, too. Europe suffers here, because of the sheer number of languages that must be dealt with. But Sony fans point to Microsoft and Xbox Live Arcade, which does not appear to suffer similar issues. Microsoft's global system means games almost always launch day and date in the US and Europe.

Yoshida, who has impressed PlayStation fans with his honest approach to interviews and willingness to engage fans on Twitter, took to the comments section of the PlayStation Blog to answer concern on this subject from gamers.

"In light of ever-increasing globalization of the (gaming) world, do you see a future for the current regionalized approach to digital distribution, or do you anticipate one global distribution network (including one PS Store, a global SEN account etc)?" asked chrisboers. "I understand there are (legal and contractual) regional restrictions right now, but in five years maybe? Is this something Sony actively pursues?"

"It's a great question!" Yoshida replied. "There are both positives and negatives in the current regional approach, and I admit I have 3 PSN IDs for Japan, US and Europe..."

Then, in response to Skookie30's questions on the subject (including "Why do you need to use the so called unfair muti-region system that 5 years EU haven't got the same love as SCEA & SCEJ when it comes to content?"), Yoshida suggested gamers be careful what they wish for.

"Managing multiple small countries with multiple languages is much more inefficient than managing a large single country," he said. "You should be careful what you wish for. If you want all regions managed by one perspective, one view of the largest country, then you are not in for a good ride.

"Having strong regional representation with regional operation is a great thing to be able to cater to the needs of the market."

Yoshida's comments will come as little consolation to those still wondering about the status of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on the European PlayStation Store. It launched on Xbox 360 globally and in the US PlayStation Store on 21st August - nearly two months ago.
Keep in mind that we’re talking about a pre-order of a game. There are more important things in life then to get worked up about a release/pre-order date of a game.

I’m not saying that you’re not allowed to be frustrated/disappointed/angry about this news, but please... Keep it civilized.
