I would absolutely LOVE to see that info
I would absolutely LOVE to see that info
I'm pretty sure I just did a quest that mentions the Garleans and Magitek specifically... And I think Yoshi talked about that in the new Famitsu as well.

Not sure if its been mentioned but in Dzemael Darkhold all the porters and the inactive ones in various places are "Magitek" devices.
I feel like this is where N00bs go to die. I am smitten. Must level...
Magitek technologies was the best thing in FFVI (FFIII US) (my favourite Final Fantasy too), I was truly hoping Magitek technology would be more prominent in FFXIV when Tanaka-san talk about magitek during alpha and beta. Hopefully, Yoshida-san will increase the Eorzean technology at some point (through the story of Eorzea) to include more magitek.I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned or posted another thread about this but i was just thinking about old final fantasy games and how i would love to see certain things in this state of graphics and user interfaces... anyone remember MagiTek Armor? i remember playing FFIII US release on my super Nintendo when i was about 10 11 yrs old and that was an awesome concept of a mechanized armor. I know something like that would be YEARS down the road for XIV provided it lasts that long (which i hope it dose) but maybe i can plant a seed in the creators mind with this thread.... =)
LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.
(Marvelous economics IQ test!)
its a very close tie between FFIII US and FFVII as my fav I loved the story of FFIII and it has that nostalgia feeling like i was 10 years old again, and the falling in love with cinematic movies and sequences of FFVII.. I mean come on lets see some hands.... who cried when sephiroth killed Aerith... c'mon... lets see em...Magitek technologies was the best thing in FFVI (FFIII US) (my favourite Final Fantasy too), I was truly hoping Magitek technology would be more prominent in FFXIV when Tanaka-san talk about magitek during alpha and beta. here ya go
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ity+team+japanOur Russian Community Reps, Yovechkin and Malkinsan, had the opportunity to sit down with Naoki Yoshida, Director of Final Fantasy XIV.
Here’s the translated interview:
Q: Dear Yoshi-P, you talked about the possibility to have other mounts besides Chocobos in recent interviews. Could you give us more details on these “other” mounts”?
A: These other mounts will be called Magitek Armors, as previously announced one year ago. They will be released in patch 1.21 at the earliest.
Q: How will Magitek Armors be accessible?
A: Magitek Armors will be unlocked after completing new storyline quests, where you’ll get access to Garlean technology.
Q: How will Magitek Armors and Chocobos cohabit?
A: They won’t replace chocobos as they’re not meant to be used for long distance traveling (they move slower).
Q: Will we be able to fight enemies while riding Magitek Armors?
A: Yes, but only in specific areas.
Q: What are these areas?
A: There will be a new instanced dungeon with yellow toxic clouds preventing adventurers from setting foot in it. It will only be accessible to players riding Magitek Armors. The dungeon is currently called Narshe Caves (tentative name, not 100% definite).
There will also be a new open area only accessible by Magitek Armors, where you will fight very large enemies. We’ve heard rumors of a giant coblyn lurking in the area...
Q: Will we be able to PvP with Magitek Armors?
A: The new area will feature a PvP arena called Magitek Cemetery, where tournament winners will receive parts to upgrade their Magitek Armors.
Q: What kind of attacks can Magitek Armors do?
A: You can shoot elemental beams while riding Magitek Armors, which will consume shards and crystals of the corresponding element. We’ve also created a special attack that uses deaspected crystals.
Q: How can we upgrade our Magitek Armors?
A: You will meet a familiar Final Fantasy character who will be able to help you upgrade your Magitek Armor. While we can’t tell you who it is yet, his name begins with C, ends with D, and contains 3 letters. Please look forward for further announcements about this mysterious character.
Q: Will Magitek Armors be able to jump?
A: Not at the moment, but based on community feedback, we might consider it.
Q: Anything else you can tell us?
A: Visit The Lodestone regularly for more details, and please wait just a little bit longer.

Keep posting ideas on how to implement magitek armor.. this is something that i think would be an absolute game saver as far as replay and just straight up epic battles of absolutely EPIC proportions!!
This isn't a joke thread like that other one this thread is to bounce around different ideas on how magitek armor can actually be implemented in FFXIV i for one would really like to have this be in the game in later updates/expansions
