I would say no. Only because I'm pretty sure that is how the RMT spam people, using the player search function. So after you black list them you no longer get the spam from that name. Of course all they do is add a letter or what have you and there they are again.

I would've thought you no longer get the spam from them because they've been blacklisted and thus all their text messages have been blocked.

Yes, but how else do they get your name to spam you in the first place? Automated program using the player search function for the area that you are in, probably why it happens almost instant when you teleport to a new area, well on this server anyways

You're undoubtedly correct. But that could very well continue to work. You pop in, they search you, they /tell you just like they always do. You just never see it because the blacklist blocks their /tell.

Someone in my FC blacklisted a friend as a joke, when the friend would speak in FC chat, the person who blacklisted him could not see the words he was typing, like everyone else could.

I would assume if you are blacklisted, you can search them, but not message them.
