I'd rather they not waste resources on making something that hardly anyone plays, but that's just my opinion. Though, it would be interesting to have more diverse races; provided that they don't break the lore.

I completely agree with this guy, In any other game more bestial races are a lot less played so designing them could be a massive waste on development resources.

In addition, most games that add new bestial races give them stat bonuses that make them worthwhile. The only exception to this seems to be when they add "cute and cuddly" races. And before you cite WoW, remember they always introduce their races in pairs, and even the bestial race THEY added had the option to appear human.

They already did that. They're called the Galka. They had to drop the cat-like features in order to make them distinct from the Mithra.
Which they tweaked AGAIN to make the Roegadyn. Female Roes resemble female Ronso VERY closely. Just shave them and, like you said, change their feet (and hands):

So yeah, the Ronso exist, just not in the exact way you want.

Then SE shouldn't make a new race at all from now on. They've succeeded in making a popular race (Miqo'te) so they no longer need to try any more. Leave new races to the beastmen and let us just deal with the fact this game has nothing unique to play as.

Unless you're a Miqo'te or Lalafell, you can already 'dress up' as a Viera. Just choose a hairstyle that hides your human ears and then equip the bunny ears. Voila, you are now a Viera (SE would never create Ivalice Viera, as they have unique feet).

And now It'll be split between Miqo'te lalafel and au'ra. ;P

They've already drawn some rather awesome concept art of ff14 Viera though unique feet and all. Whether they actually implement it with w/e expac comes after HW or not who knows. But never is a strong word given what we've seen/heard thus far.
