    I see it as a single step in a much larger plan. Crafting should be simple but expensive and reward via benefits in economy and unique character development. It should not be complex. Sure, you can say some of these problems dont fix the problem, but they are heading in the right direction. Down the line, hopefully the problems will be fixed.

    I can only half agree with you. Leveling crafting should be simple but it should not be boring. Making basic armours and weapons should be fairly simple if not a little complex. But epic gear should not be simple. It should be rare and incredibly complex calling for materials from multiple Crafts as well as possible sub crafts. There is no reason to dumb down every recipe and leave the crafting community nothing to strive for.

    I can partially agree with that. It's fine for end-game/"epic" items to be complex because it's likely they will only be made under special circumstances and you should have to work/hunt for them. But I don't see this change targetting, or moving in a direction to eliminate those things. In fact, it could be debated that these items dont even exist in the game right now. Only exceptions I can think of would be like Dodore Doublet/Vintage Robe/Tricorne. Maybe a few more, I don't play enough to know, admittedly.

    I think Yoshi-P's personality (via letters and such) has made it evident that he wants the game to start out simple but scale into a more complex game for "hardcore" players, thus satisfying both worlds. He wants to make PvP, as well as has plans for large scale raids for multiple full parties in the future. I don't think he's going to dumb down the entire system and make everything boring. They can always customize special recipes and add additional "parts" in the future and make exceptions to the rule they are making apparent right now. I wouldn't be worried about your concern in this post, but I can understand why you would.
