Luckily the majority of FFXIV players are super nice and friendly. But..

I was trying to advance the Hildibrand quest line with my friend tonight, and we were on the Ultros/Typhoon fight. (*Which isn't that hard) Someone in our group was furious with the first wipe, and rage pulled immediately after the fight reset. Giving us no time at all to get some information on it. Of course we wiped again, which resulted in more yelling and harassment.

This kind of thing ruins what is supposed to be a really fun fight into a chore. We can't even explain the fight to other new players if we wanted to. The 3 Elitists in our group kept pulling. (*there are a lot of returning players to the game right now by the way)

Just typing this made me feel a little better. Being berated by some of the rudest most elitist players ever was exhausting. Thanks to those of you who are aware there are real humans behind these screens, trying to enjoy a game as much as you.

Don't forget the mandatory ilvl gear harassment too, they made sure to check on mine before they left. ^_^
I hope other returning players aren't being alienated by them right now.

pffft, iLevel is garbage.
Though it does make me cringe when I see Bards stack skill speed. *shudder*
Can't blame em though since every single one of our weapons over 110 except Dreadwyrm has it -_-

I understand the demand for greatness, but on a sidequest boss fight? With no ilvl requirement to queue?
These people are bonkers to be yelling at anyone for that sort of thing.

My ilvl 103 is not great, but it's totally fine for what i'm doing right now. Playing catchup, i havent played in a year!

i100+ isn't terrible either.

Technically speaking, i70 and above is ok for most content as older content was made with i50, etc in mind. A lot of things can be lawnmower'd as older content wasn't adjusted for rising ilvl gear.

Also: look for party members in FC before DF. (that's what I did for Stone Vigil)[I suggest this for main story quests if it works out well]

I'm fortunate I haven't run into that problem yet...doing the MSQ dungeons.

Though I'm wondering if those people who left after wipes are speed runners who wanted to steamroll it.
