Idea for new Housing Options - FC Neighborhoods non-existent

After recently purchasing a plot on one of the smallest servers in the game, finding the spot was almost impossible. Being from Jenova you would think getting a house wouldn't be that hard but almost 85% of the housing districts are all personal housings. This coming from low rates due to low population.

I believe the wards should be separated making certain wards only available for FCs and some for just personal housing. I say this due to the fact that when I started the game I loved having other FCs as neighbors (Actually how I met a lot of my in game friends).

It's just sad seeing that nowadays that most housing wards are mega-empty and have no life to them due to all personal housing taking over originally FC filled wards.

To state: This is just my opinion and this will be open to discussion.

How do you feel on this subject?

I love having my personal house right next door to my Free Company estate. That's how I feel.

I'd blame that on SE not really doing much with housing wards more than anything. Splitting private and Free Companies into different wards would just give us two types of empty wards... Would be nice for Free Companies who currently can't purchase land perhaps, but I don't think it would do anything to make wards more lively.

Doesn't need to be an fc house. I've been talking a break until heavensward, but if I'm not in a dungeon, I'm in my yard or house either semi afk, crafting, or chatting.

I met my silly neighbors and have become good friends with them. I don't really see why it has to be an fc house. Actually most fc houses on behemoth are the ones that are vacant. Most, not all.

Here's a thought - the total abolishment of free company and personal housing. It's just a house, it belongs to the purchaser, and they have total control over it - they can name it, set flags as to who can and cannot enter, what privileges they possess, what facilities they can use, and so on.

If you wanted free company housing, you'd just buy the house, name it "(your fc name here)'s Fun Hut) or whatever, tick the box in my hypothetical control panel that says "Allow All FC Members", and you have company housing.

Of course, I detect another frustration, here - the desire to have a busy neighborhood with many neighbors. That, unfortunately, is more a function of dead lots owned by inactive players, and it is its own beast of a debate, with two clear sides: selfish jackoffs who want SE to spend infinity dollars to create 20+ wards for homes they don't intend to use, and the somewhat less insane individuals who believe that the former category need to be thrown out of their homes to rot in the street.

I have originally brought up this problem here, I think we share similar concerns.

Yeah. "Neighbourhoods." Been wondering about that ever since SE came up with that reasoning. While I was on Shiva - yes, there were people running around the houses; there were people idling their time away and being AFK; there were people crafting stuff. But that was all. And quite frankly, that's not in any way different from what's been going on in any of the three city states. Or Mor Dhona. I mean I suppose it's nice to have a district full of houses that provide private accomodation, as opposed to offices and shops and guild HQs... But the problem is that that purpose is more known, in the back of our head, than felt, seen, heard, experienced around us when we are there. Which is in quite a big part SE's fault as well. Since the Christmas event last year (or indeed even before that), there has been no event that would've even remotely focused on these smaller communities. Not even as much as a house/garden beauty contest. Nothing at all to help build a sense of "neighbourhoods". I know, I know, other content, other priorities, etc... But when the bases are there, when even the intention is there (if that reasoning in itself is any indication), they really should start actually utilising it.

Dead plots and inactive players, not to even mention how the whole real estate market was played by some, are definitely a huge issue. But not the only issue.
