Isn't it implied that not all the primals (such as King Moggle Mog) were real, and instead are just called into existence by aether + imagination? In that case Shiva might not have been an actual thing and might just be the mythology of a countersect to the Holy See.

Aye, but all legends tend to have a grain of truth. Honestly, it would explain the staggering amount of powerful ice-aspected dragons we've seen. Very few actual strong fire ones so far. Stone Vigil's final boss dragon is even Ice Aspected, and that one dragon in Steps is ice as well isn't it?

I don't remember Vishap doing much more than walking and body slamming so I don't know. But there are a few dragons that have fire breath (all the ones that ambush you in SV for instance), and the biasts have lightning aspect. Bahamut is a dragon too but it's hard to tell what sort of aspect he had as it seemed to be just destructive beams in general rather than fire (though his signature move IS called "Mega Flare"). Twintania is fire aspected as well with her conflagrations and fire balls.

Ah, right. TBH I haven't had the "pleasure" of fighting Twintania yet :P And yeah, Bahamut is known more for being a disaster of unnatural proportions rather than elemental, no matter what game it is.

don't forget Svara (yellow dragon, lightning), the Coerethas S rank (can't remember) and the color dragons in Syrcus tower.

Big badies looking like FFxii's dragons (1st boss in Stone Vigil NM and HM, T13) are fire-based as well, and so are the Veganausaurs (or whatever they are called. Step of Faith and Stone Vigil HM last boss). The adamantoise-like dragons seem earth-based, though it's more a result of their weight rather than a real element.

Aiatar (Brayflox) is poison based too.

As for Bahamut, he's fire based usually, though he destroys everything so easily that there is nothing left to burn

I'm fairly sure Shiva did exist based on Dragonsong which appears to be entirely about her relationship with a dragon and how she was betrayed, thus starting the unending Dragonsong War. It mourns her death and Man's tendency to sacrifice peace for personal gain.

The church call her the first heretic. So it should have happened at the beginning of the war.

Maybe not. We know little (if anything) about the chronology of the dragonsong war. For all we know, some Ishgardians may have started to befriend dragons only a few centuries after the beginning of the conflict.
