No. We don't. Game development isn't ad should never be a democratic process. The first wave of polls was already a bad idea (and little more than a marketing ploy anyway). We don't need any more random internet nonames with tunnel vision and zero bird-eye view dictating where a game should go (or thinking that they are). That's game a developer's job.

Seriosly, if you think that "the crowd" is a good decision maker (even more so in something as specific as the development of a MMORPG), you need a reality check. Urgently.

I agree with you, still the choices the devs are making are based on that poll, so if we really have to follow one IMHO we need a poll that's really valid.

Do you really think so? That poll was little more than a marketing ploy, and a poorly devised one to begin with. It's fairly easy to see how little influence it had on the the design of this game. Thankfully, I would add.

Besides, there's *no way* to have a poll that's "really valid" on a MMORPG, you have absolutely no control on the respondent demographics, and no way to ensure that they'll be a valid representation of the playerbase, and even more so of the playerbase you don't yet have but you want to attract.
This without even mentioning the fact that the minority (and extremely small miority) of the playerbase has bird's eye view necessary to make any kind of fair assessment on what something as complex as a MMORPG needs. Most random internet goes will just ask for what's convenient of easy at first sight instead of asking for what's balanced or necessary, voiding any kind of poll of any meaning or utility.
