I want them to remove Manual Point Allotment all together.
Give Bonus Stats on Skills, Spells, and Weapon Skills
When equipping Skills, Spells, and Weaponskills if the If is from your class and your rank you get 100% of the stats listed.
If its cross class and not optimum rank you get none of the stats
If its cross class but optimum rank you get half..

Mixing two or more synergistic skills also grants you a job trait when you have a job active.

So having Cure and defender equipped when you are a Paladin will give you a job trait of something like Aura Shield, granting a magic defense or something.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

I'm waiting for more info honestly, I think its the right direction for the masses though as long as we still have some control over the allocation of points in some form I'll be happy with it.

i dont think they need to do away with point allotment, they could just fix it. here how.
1 take away the restrictions on moving your points how you want them
2 make the points for each class stay on that class once set so you don't have to move your points every-time.

with all the point conversion traits out there well still have plenty of ways to move our points, so thats good.

I definitely have mixed feelings about this. One of the main things I enjoyed about the point allotment system was that if you started a new job at level one, you were not completely useless. Because of your training in other classes, you were stronger or smarter or whatever, and so your rank one class could survive fighting a level four or five enemy with a bit of difficulty (just try walking out of the gate as your new level 1 advanced job in FFXI and trying to fight one of the lowest level orcs, you die in maybe two hits).

However, because a good amount of us, myself included, try out a variety of classes--at the very least most of us have tried one disciple of war and one disciple of magic--the most logical choice is to balance your character so that all stats are roughly the same. This meaning that with the exception of say, those who hate playing mages and so never point any points into intelligence and peity, you will never be great at anything, you will just be good at everything. Although I do believe that the guild mark traits such as "Will to Power" (that let you trade some points you assigned to intelligence into strength) did a fairly good job at balancing that. Though that did have the problem that you had to be fairly good at one type of job before being better at the other (my highish-level conjurer spent alot of marks to be a better disciple of war, but none of my disciples of war are high enough to do the opposite). Maybe flip-flop which ones you get--i.e. the mages can spend points to turn strength into intelligence?

i like this for solo cause at rank 1-30 i can easily solo mobs 10-15 ranks above me for good sp. I dont like it because it causes in balance in the game when your playing with other players with the same rank and a lower physical lvl. Needless to say i will get all my bat classes above 25 while the gettins good.

Patch 1.19 removes point allotment, and it will be reintroduced in patch 1.20

Implementation of automated character development based on class level 1.19

We will implement a system whereby players can voluntarily allocate attribute points to each class in patch 1.20. This will take place alongside class balance adjustments.

It seems like they are going to rework all the Battle classes, based on forum imput, then work on fixing the point system to reflect what the classes become. <--- This is my Speculation only, Not at All Fact

Either way Points will be based on rank, I imagine they will need to change what the Caps for these attributes are, and how much they effect the class, as there is a clear maximum that can be achieved because it will be class lvl based

So for now enjoy the fact your character will have set attributes during the 1.19 patch, I dont know how good this will be but at the very least you wont fail at your class due to thinking Dex increases evasion or something else silly

I feel that I can't wait.... I prefer to keep my stats for my mages, but my lowest jobs MRD and LNC were really starting to feel the effects of no dex and no str at r36. This didn't matter with leve linking/failing, but now that my performance matters, I really can't wait to have a stat build for each job.

Healer strike is ridiculously foolish and accomplishes nothing
