This.
Instanced housing options please. Gimme two rooms and a greenhouse/balcony and the "apartment building" a communal stable w/ weekly maint fee to use.
Hell, communal garden with one phased personal plot even. It'd look neat.
Yeah I was mainly responding to o3o's concerns with legacy gil carry over.. and if you read the people's complaints about houses carefully, you'll notice quite a few of them do complain simply because they have enough for a small and all the smalls are sold out, but their server still has plenty of mediums and larges available... Then there are people who complain about housing when they don't even have enough to buy one..
I think if SE introduced a 2x1 hyrdoponic garden as a private chamber only furnishing (can't have a mansion filled with 200 of these things) it would satisfy a very large portion of the people because for some people, gardening is the biggest part of housing. Private Chambers can actually fill the need quite well, it can already be decorated, have friends come over etc.. just lacks the gardening.
Why yes, yes I did

Masamune - 12 LARGE houses left. Period
つ ◕_◕ ༽つ Tackle box or riot! つ ◕_◕ ༽つ
lol if I didn't know better, I'd give you the make more gil lecture.. but Masamune.. I'm not touching that with a 40 ft. stick
Btw, is there any other server with Masamune's economic situation? Or is it unique to just the one server?
This I agree with, the way housing is currently, it's a terrible excuse for a gil sink.. Gil sinks need to be repeating and periodic.. Raiders re-melding their gear each tier is a gil sink (unfortunately, a one time deal since raid loots have no materia slots), repair bill, however small, is a gil sink.. Crafters aren't subject to any of that, even the repair bill is even more abysmal than other people because of dark matter.. This does need to be addressed by SE. Currently, any kind of gil loss a crafter endures, we just pass on the losses to our customers in the form of markup. Which is not cool, but one would be stupid not to when everybody else takes it into their pricing model..

EQ2 has a great housing system. I wish SE would do something similar.
UPDATE: The last house on Lamia was purchased some time in the last few days.
I desire updates. Updates on housing.
I think Masamune is the only server where making a reasonable amount of gil is out of reach for the normal player. Lamia's economy doesn't make any sense, but if you know exactly what to farm or what to craft and have the time to spend doing it, you can cough up a million a day easily.
Wow... Masamune is twisted, I had to make a character just to get an idea of pricing. 150k-200k for artisan/forager gear. 250k assassin fry, thav onions 100k, seeds 80k, ninja betta 80-90k. baby opo 400k-1mil, fat cat 170k. I can definitely see it being hard to make enough money on that server to buy houses. On Hyperion I'd say everything from above ranges from 3x-6x of the price on your server. Wonder how it got that bad.
Was a small in the Goblet for sale for 40 million on Balmung a few hours ago...
