There were things in 1.0 that I did love and wish were implemented into ARR, but as it stands, even despite Yoshi's valiant tinkering with it, 1.23 may have been a good game with potential, it was still too little too late, the game was still fundamentally broken in pretty much every way, and thus the game thoroughly deserved it's bullet behind the ear.

And before you pass judgement, SE actually gave players a chance to have 1.23 retained in operation 'indefinitely' as a side game to ARR - dependent on logins though. Naturally, this failed after not even a month (I remember logging in and literally being the only person on my server). So that proved to SE once and for all, 1.0 was a lost cause. Accordingly, players had their chance to bring the game back and wasted it. In SE's eyes, there just isn't any point to reviving 1.0 because of this.
