Just from what I've heard (I'm not a proponent of this BTW) it pushes games and locks them into a release date they might end up needing more time to develop, end up releasing a buggy POS. They box it up with preorder bonuses and in game items that are exclusive to the pre order/CE that, some say, should have been available in the game to begin with but is now a "purchase" item (see Cash Shop threads). It encourages lazy developing. and i'm sure if you googled "Preorders are ruining games" you could find more details straight from the horses mouth so to speak.

I am for preordering games cause of the place I live. If i don't preorder, I will probably never see it, unless its COD, Assasins creed, or Halo. I just remembered seeing all this outrage about it then I come here and there is opposite outrage. I see the pros' and the con's, just wanted to throw this out there.

the thing with some preorders and people saying that something should have been in the game to begin with is closer to games like Destiny. 2/3rds of the assets for the first expansion were in game, as well as the code for it, but was cut from the final version of the game to milk money.

preordering is not the problem its the season passes and day 1 dlc

I don't believe this to be the case with FFXIV, since 2.0 launched there haven't really been anything catastophic, Yoshi P has done an amazing job in turning this game around and the pre-order bonus were what they said on the tin, bonus items, they haven't rushed this, sure you may get bugs (what game doesn't?), but these are usually picked up quite quickly anyway.
Anyway, back on topic, where's the gruddam PS4 CE Digital release? :P

I guess it all depends on what side of the fence you sit. Personally I like the kickstarter backing. It's essentially a preorder but with no set release date. Not as much pressure for the devs to push it out and you help fund the project as its being developed. More backers, better product.

welp. it is tuesday. NO preorder for digital ps4 heavensward yet. I'm beginning to get a bit anxious. Because EA has pre orders for Battlefront that wont come out til Nov. Ummmm Dont tell me just to get the box copy cause that might not happen for me here considering my work. So i would like didgital pre orders ready please

psn store doesnt update until 5pm PDT i think but i wouldnt hold your breath seeing it there today.
