Man I wish we could summon Phoenix, even for a short duration.

I made a thread questioning this supposed glamour system we will be getting. And I inquired, "what about Scholar". It would be cool if we could glamour the fairies too, maybe to Phoenix?
I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.

I wish the skills of the arcanist were more based on summons. The Eye for an Eye could have exactly the same effect, but should be called Golem. The Ressurrection spell could have the same effect and should be called Phoenix... It would be lore-explained and we could have good-looking animations... (Except if they make Phoenix the Limit Breaker for the SCH, wich would be much more awesome!)

You are a scholar not summoner.I wish the skills of the arcanist were more based on summons. The Eye for an Eye could have exactly the same effect, but should be called Golem. Oh ho. Here we go.
I didn't know I had to play FCoB to understand the game or get an impression of SCHs new abilities. FCoB isn't for everyone, and I take my time to enjoy the game. One doesn't need to run the top tier raid to have an opinion. Besides, I have my own reasons for not playing it. And if this, for some obnoxious and elitist-y reason, makes my opinion some how less valid then so be it. I honestly don't care.
Anyway I'm obviously not the only one who thinks they look boring.

Well, I didn't pay attention to the Arcanist/Scholar/Summoner storyline, since it was my first class and this is my first MMO. I thought I had to go through the missions as fast as possible, so i skipped it all #DumbMe. But once you are taught to summon Carbuncle to help you in the beginning of your quest, why couldn't you learn how to summon Golem and Phoenix? I think it's possible, since golem wasn't shown in this FF yet (and I don't know when Phoenix first appeared, but I guess it wasn't in 2.0).
The decision was in the hands of the Dev team. I'm saying that an arcanist already learns basic summon magic, why not give it some more? Won't hurt...

You can, its the Louisoix minion you get from final coils
Final coils of Bahamut bring up phoenix issues, but if Louisoix did truely grant of boon of power to his Grandchildren in his final seconds in eorzea, there may be potential for creepy twins to summon phoenix egi.

Devil's advocate coming in: I think the key word here is effectively. At least if you accept that the context provided by various encounters is important to theorycrafting, which I believe it is in this case.

Then you are not playing it right. It isn't boring when you make the most of your job ie: dealing damage when not healing, and using all of your abilities instead of throwing Medica II bombs all day.
