I'm liable to agree with Iceylee though - the Ascians look completely different to how they were depicted in 1.0, just like how the Echo was also changed in it's execution in ARR compared to 1.0, and I'm liable to regard the 1.0 appearance as retconned (in other words, no longer relevant).

Accordingly, they no longer lack a shadow (which also kinds of makes the title of the Ascian leitmotif Without Shadow kind of meaningless. ).
