Absolutely in agreement with you, m3eansean. Housing purges need to happen. I've seen other people mention in the housing forums that they know of people who have bought properties on alts, which is absurd. The housing system, as implemented in its current state, is broken and problematic.

Dont agree with auto release at all. You paid, you deserve to keep it, period.

Desperation for a home shouldnt result in attacking those that already have bought one, but Instead, we need to put the blame where it belongs...with se and its poorly implemented and far too limiting design.

I have a small house that I would love to sell but again...its so unfair to the perspective buyer to have to buy me out then repay another huge amount to claim the lot again.

Its really really silly. At the very least allow us to sell back to an NPC for original paid amount, that way theres no need to panic about gil changing between players.

Housing availability was poorly handled, housing ui and design as well. I am thankful we have it!! dont get me wrong but availability is sad, and the lack of anyway to create anything is realllly sad .
imo it could/should have a complete overhaul from the ground up.

Except if a player has been inactive for months and months and is no longer paying sub, do they really need a home?

Does a FC that has been inactive for over a year and has some members that haven't played for longer need a home?

I think not. If you're gone for that long you probably aren't coming back, and therefore leaving the home built but vacant is just as pointless as the huge shortage of housing.

Update as of 5/24/15: I'm really glad I compulsively monitor the wards, since a medium plot opened in a prime location in the Lavender Beds. My Free Company now has a home :3

Grats! I guess patience does pay off~ I may have to now watch the wards for awhile more closely than before now.

I checked every day, every ward, every housing area. It's a pain but it paid off! If you're on hyperion feel free to come visit us (ward 7 plot 27)

Hey Saeri, you're going to have to basically check the district you want every time you log in. I'll message you on Facebook if I see something open.

As an FC, i'd stay away from sub-wards though.
