It's tedious and inconvenient which is how it gives value to glamour prisms on the MB..
There are lot more things that are just as tedious for no good reason other than to give the product a value.. I'm okay with it tbh, as a crafter you should be pulling in enough money not to worry about 10k spent on glamour prisms here and there. (Same if you're into glams, what's another 10k when you're spending millions on vanity gear)
I just buy it off the MB and forget about it.
