Thank you so much! I intend to take the down time to learn how to play so I dont start out a complete newbie. I started out on Besaid as an Archer, my friend said it would be a good class to get used to the game with.

Well Rozien keep in mind that as an archer you are going to consume arrows constantly. I highly suggest leveling carpenter so you can make some arrows, as well as making friends who can make you stacks of fletching, arrowheads etc. for your arrow needs.
