Now i think of it, the Summoner new ability with the Bahamut ether thingy seems like what certain lady did in Akh Afah Amphitheatre... If you take that into account, its pretty awesome. I wonder if they will add some appearance changes during the buff.

Makes no sense for anyone who hasn't beaten Bahamut, that's for sure.

Maybe you dont have to beat it.

In this ARR Lore anyone with the knowledge and crystals can summon a Primal. Hell, even Greg did summon Enkidu not knowing how. Taking Lady iceheart example, the new Bahamut powers looks like a safer and weakest method of summoning. You dont take the full power of Bahamut, just a fraction: Like the Egis.

Summoner is about toying with the energy of the Primals. We got the 2 methods of summoning of all the series now: Summoning a companion AND an attack of a primal.

Also, i am curious what new actions will the existing egis will gain with the upcoming 3.0 version.

I'm guessing that Bahamut's backstory will be a focus of the new SMN job quests. They did say he would be featured in a "side story" in Heavensward (and job quests are technically side stories).

The video showed some sort of Bahamut animation when you go into Trance, but there's no appearance change otherwise.
