What NEW races would you like to see?

Most FF titles have not only focused on fantasy or magic, but also a lot on Science fiction and technology.

I'm not sure how it could translate into a new race, but there were interesting examples in the past of characters infused with different types of magic (Celes from VI, Cloud form VII), or with mechanical parts (Barret from VII, I think there were some others but can't remember), or some that came back from the deads (Auron from X), or even some "alien" types (FFIV and IX endgame plots and associated characters, the Ancients (Sephiroth) from VII).

I realize that some of these aspects could be achieved with equipment or materias or different types of augment, just wanted to chime in, maybe some others would have some more precise ideas based on this.

For example, in future expansions, we could come to meet with rebel factions that were initially used by the Garleans as experimental subjects to build an army of altered (augmented) hyur bodies, and came to build their own race and civilization. Or they could come up with remote areas populated with some Ancients of unknown origins that worship a different set of gods or a kind of ghost town idk

Imo the distinctive feature from FF series is that it never was purely medieval and fantastic, rather they always found a way to make you believe that it's plausible that a bunch of kids with swords and a bit of magic could take down an empire with an army of tanks and airships.

Unlike WoW and it's Wow-Clone you can't really add new Race every few years. The issue SE would say is the game is to far off to add new race. It would take us lot's of work to remake every gear,item, and so on for the new Race. Also the issue with the storyline unlike WoW where they can add new race if they like without issue. FFXIV/FFXI would have issue with the storyline if they said at start there only 5 race and few sub race it going to be hard just to say. "One day a new race came out of no where.

So i say no to new race.

My only gripe with this game is that the only reason so far that I can see, that we have these current races, is to entice those who played XI to come to XIV.
I too would like to see some sort of mix race hyur/elezen, or Padjal but that's impossible.

Honestly though? My biggest desire? Viera. I am so sick of Miqote, I had my fair share of catgurlz and dudes back in XI. The charm is definitely gone. Nearly my entire shell is made up of miqote. I'M BORED OF THEM.
Viera on the other hand were like the proud forest folk of Ivalice, they were so glamorous.

It's a shame that the argument for that will be "Wrong world, won't happen." SOB, Bangaa were also fantastic. ; ;
Whatever happened to that interview that suggested Hydaelyn has been seen in a previous FF game? Was I just imagining it? D: Maybe cross-world race sharing?

I guess in general more animal looking humanoids capable of speech and language who also happen to posses status similar to that of the main races we currently have. Actual large bipedal cats, and not just hyurs with cat ears. Even if they're just NPC races, a little more variety than "Hyurs with long ears, hyurs with tails, green hyurs with stubby legs" Since it seems to every 1 goblin NPC we have, there's several dozen Playable-race NPCs.


Just so long as they don't suddenly decide that suddenly Sylph are merchants now to fill that variety hole. :/

Eorzea is small, if they started to add in lore and 'rumours' of the continent across the sea housing giant lizard men, it's still possible. I wouldn't say no to anything at this point, if it helps even a little to add in new NPC based races instead of playable ones.

I'm all for male Miqote and female Roes, but the game needs a little more spice in the NPC department. Like the rare friendly Yagudo, like the yag Samurai npc in XI.

Hmm what I would like, but do not really care at this point, is male mi'qote. I was hoping they would have one since in FFXI they taunted us with a male mithra NPC =.=

However, if like to see burmecians(rat race, FRya's race from FFIX) since they had both male and female, plus were pretty cool looking to. Well even if they added either of these, unless I could change my char I would never play em. xD
