Yes, please. I've always wanted my caster to be able to wear the Kirimu coat.
I'm against this to be honest. I think classes and jobs should have more unique appearances that fit their role and silhouette. Sure, tanks have more variety in what they can wear but that's no different than most MMO's that have varying armor classes. Heavy armored classes can wear everything below them, while light armored can't wear things heavier.
It takes training/practice to move comfortably and completely in heavy armor as opposed to light clothes or robes. I'd rather not see mages in full plate armor.
I say let everything that isn't specific to the class/job be glamourable to everything else. In other words none of this "Disciple of War/Disciple of Magic" stuff. If it fits into those broad categories, it should be wearable by anyone in terms of glamour capabilities. Maybe not actually equipped, but glamourable yes. The whole idea of the glamour system is that it's simply projecting the appearance of one item over another, so looking at it from a story perspective, having heavy plate armor projected over a cloth robe doesn't actually change that robe into heavy armor. It simply changes the appearance of it, while the person wearing it is still moving around in the normal weight and flexibility of their robe. Still, to keep with the variety of it, I do think that each class/job should have a specific set, (or several sets), of gear that is unique in appearance when compared to the others that can't be glamoured outside of that class/job....
Perhaps an option to glamour within roles? Ranged DPS, Melee DPS, Tank, Healer cross glamour could work. though I understand it would leave out the healers a bit, I feel in most cases classes/ jobs would still be able to fit their "silhouette" as it were.
Why do people care about "silhouettes" of jobs? We can glamour snowman heads and bikinis, there's already no "Tanks look like X, Healers look like Y" anymore. The weapon is already the only giveaway you can be sure of, I say let everyone glamour everything - the weapon will still tell you their job if you have to be able to tell visually. In PvP, you see their class written over their head anyway, and in group content you see their class symbol. Really doesn't matter what they wear.
And for those people who're hell-bent on having everyone looking as much as their class as possible, all we need is a checkbox in the options that shows or hides other people's cross-class glamour, done.
