If you apply the job dragoon on your LNC, you are now a dragoon with your lancer abilities and probably unique DRG ones and will be unable to use some if not all other classes abilities. The OP says that exactly but uses subjob for the LNC since it's the base class for DRG. Yes it will be like having a subjob since you'll be able tu use that class' abilities but being locked on that subjob since you need to be a LNC to "apply" DRG.
