Bring on Personal Wings! [Beyond Heavensward Thread]

My problem with wings is that there is nothing to support their being in game.

Then put something in the game that supports it. Or just make it a Veteran Reward - because the other Veteran Rewards don't give a hoot if they are supported by other stuff in the game or not. Random huge, tame Behemoth for us to ride on in the mail box? Where's the lore support for that? Bar its own description in the mount log, there is none. Put the pair of wings in the mount log, add an explanation they come up with, and voilà.

And honestly, the fact that we fight Odin in this game, and the fact that his mount is supposed to be unique, and the fact that Odin doesn't drop it seem to be reasons NOT to have his mount for sale in the cash shop, rather than support.

Like Riepah mentions "doesn't fit this style of game/lore" really isn't a good reason that the game couldn't have wings because the style of the the game can evolve to stay new and fresh, for all we know 3.0 could have winged npcs flying about town.

To be honest I personally would not want wings in this game the mechanics of the wings and flying where awkward as hell in Aion and if it was introduced here I would most likely quit the game.

Don't get me wrong I love all pretty asphetics but wings are just a huge pain in the backside and the poor design team would have to rework the entirity of eorzea so people can fly around the areas with ie clipping through the ground or breaking through the skybox *shivers*.

They should be taking those issues into account because of flying mounts, as for the old areas there would be no flying so you wouldn't even see the wings unless someone uses an emote to show them.

I'm not really sold on flying mounts in general, I think they promote a lot of missed visual's which this game has absolutely loads to miss where you'll be looking into the sky and people sitting there hovering afk in the sky not bothering with anything else, im hoping that flying just remains to this expansion alone, This is a visually very beautiful game and all zones deserve to be observed.

But apparently, you think that zones only deserve to be observed from the ground level. Looking at zones from above is somehow bad, even though that would give you a much better view? What about zones designed with flight in mind, they could be so much more grand and beautiful, because they wouldn't have to restrict themselves to having every detail visible to someone standing on the ground. And how is hovering in the sky afk any worse than standing somewhere, motionless?

Well, they look bad from above when the pattern of textures show, I hope they don't look like that

No thnx, teleporting already makes a lot of late game transportation pointless. If we had wings then whats the point of having a lot of the mounts reworked so that they can fly?
It'd just make the majority of players go wtf r u serious SE.... Instead of fixing/ making new content, you waste ur time on pointless wings tht a lot of ppl don't like.
