RMT is a term not a brand. He is not advertising anything.

or mocking RMT which would be a good thing.
Hardly. They're no more advertising or supporting it than you are right now by simply bringing it up. If anything, he's thumbing his nose at the act of RMT. I'm afraid I've gotta side with the others in that you're taking this retainer's name a little too seriously.
I really don't see how using the name of a negative figurehead can be seen more as boycotting than promoting.
So if I make a character named Hitler, does than mean I'm making fun of Hitler? Or am I just going to piss of millions of people across the world?
Wow. You're not joking are you....Yesterday I saw a retainer in the Ul'dah market wards nicknamed "RMT"... Now... This player is more than likely not an RMT since most of them probably aren't that stupid, but needless to say, this person should be banned regardless. Support/advertising for RMT in-game is NOT HELPING US and should be stopped.[/item]?
I bet there's nowhere near that many players on my server and after that kind of action it would be creepy to walk in Ul'dah all by myself without the Lala-trains making the city seem lively.I miss logging into FFXI in the good ol' days and seeing "8422 accounts were banned yesterday due to solicitation regarding RMT activities or involvement".
Yeah that was just a random number I pulled outta my ass, but tbh those numbers we saw on FFXI were likely "across all servers" so even for FFXIV 8k accounts banned would make some sense.
While we're at it, let's ban everyone that mention or say the word "RMT" because clearly they are advertising RMT related activities.
